T3 vs. S14 T28
ok..its a T3 .60/.48(i have the T3 now)
S14 T28...not sure....60/.62?? i have an SR(S13) on the way with a S14 T28 on it. which is better?? (250rwhp..i guess) i jus wanna know which is better over all. like lag, flow, max psi...all that good crap. sell the T3 or keep it?? i know i made a similar thread...but this is for an SR. T28 Turbo specs: Compressor: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housing Turbine: T-25, 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R turbine housing. Center Section: Ball Bearing ...idk

I can't vouch for the meritts of the individual turbo, but I do know that the T-3 won't fit on the stock t-25 manifold. The square flange on the t-3 is bigger. Everyone who goes with a t3/t4 setup top mounts the turbo because of the size of the t4 compressor housing.
According to Enjuku racing, the s14 t-28 is probably the best street turbo going but don't expect super high HP numbers out of it. I was told 300HP is the max with injectors, cams and tuning. Good luck. If you decide to try the t3, I have a stainless header that is cracked around the t-25 flange. I'd sell it pretty cheap. You could then have a t-3 flange welded on to see if the t-3 will fit. |

thanks for the response
but manifold is not the issue really. i know there is a difference in flanges..but head to head which is better over all??

The T3 and T28 are pretty much identical in performance. I think a .64 a/r t25 and .48 T3 exhuast housing would be close in flow capacity, and the compressors are very similar.
So if manifolds arent the issue, I wouldnt get a t28, unless you really want the increase in response with a ball bearing turbo. T3 will still spool quickly. |
