hey guys, im tearing my motor apart, and im in the process of taking the IM off. i have all of the bolts out, and the fuel rail/injectors are off. i can get it to move, but it seems like something is holding the lower half from moving. are there more bolts to take out?

.... i really need to buy a hanes.

Did you take off the pain in the ass ones that are under the top intake pipes. I have another manifold lying around. I'll go check how many bolts there are.

There are also 3 bolts that hook onto a brace on the very bottom. It appears as though there is a total of 13 bolts.

i took out all of the easy to reach ones, plus like 4 that are under the top runners. i cant realy see any others, ill count how many i have taken out.

You are going to have to be on the bottom of the car. The lower half of the manifold is hooked onto a bracket that is hooked onto the block. Look for those 3 bolts.

ok ive got it off now. thanks for the help. on the lower half, there were 3 bolts attatched to the brackets, i took it off at the manifold, not the block. it just tok some prying and pulling to get the upper half over the studs in the lower.

another Q: on the lower manifold there are 2 sensors, one says AAC Valve, and the other has a blue lable, that says, nissan and JECS on it. what are these for, and when i sell the manifold are these usually included, or sold seperate?

when you took the intake manafold off did u have to take off the head cause mine still wount come off ... let me know

no you dont have to take the head off. Just the bolts supporting the manifold down low, and the ones connected to the head.

yeah there are some supports thaqt go from the block to the IM and the bolts are prety hidden on those. and you might have to pry to get it over the studs, or remove the studs. i used a big pry bar. it took tons of pulling and wiggling

bye doing it that way nothing gets mest up ?like the bolts or even the head its self ?

just try no to gouge the surfaces too bad. this is probobly not the best way of doing it, but if you are careful it does the job. to be safe you can use a piece of cardboard or plastic betwen the bar and surface.
