How do I install speakers in the rear deck of my 95 non-se 240sx? I tried just popping the grill covers off, but it felt like they were going to break and I didn't want to force it. What do I need to take out? I've got a blown speaker I really need to replace!
Thanks. mike |

The grills have to be unscrewed on the other side. You have to pop the whole rear piece off. There are a bunch of tiny clips, similar to the ones on the door, holding it down. Then it's pretty much straight forward from there. Oh yeah, fold the seat down first to make it easier to pull up on the rear deck. Make sure to get oversized 6 1/2" or 6 3/4" speakers or you'll have to rig it to get them to fit. Previous owner got the wrong size and they rattle like crazy right now.

yea, u can't pop the grills off. you have to take the whole console out. it just kinda pops out with a little force. from there it's really easy. putting the back seat down makes the whole process really easy. then it's really simple from there. just unplug your speakers and unscrew them. like hubie mentioned, get 6 1/2" or 6 3/4" speakers. i got 6 1/2" in the back and it was a nice and clean drop in.

You guys are lucky.......At least u have rear speakers. My 96 base came with a completely flat back panel. It was kinda weird, but i guess that i can go ahead and cut some holes for the 6 1/2"s.
Do you guys have any problem with panel rattling back there?

actually i don't have the console back on cuz the holes where the stock speakers were are too small for my new ones <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> i'm just gonna cut bigger holes in when i have time. but as far as panel rattling, naw, not really. unless i turn up the volume. but then i think my subs might cause some of the rattling too <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
