![]() alright so i have my blow off valve teed off with the wastgate vaccum line and iv been using that ever sense i did the swap and no problems at all. i use the nipple next to the fpr vaccum nipple. then i put in my boost controller(teed off with same line with bov to wastegate) and thats when the bov started to not work. started to compressor surge but boost great and vaccum fine. so i took the boost controller out and now the bov still doesnt work. it doesnt blow off at all. I tightened the screw in and out and nothing changed. wtf can it be? it cant be the vaccum source cuz iv been using it no problems in the past. anybody who ahd the same problem as me can help me out or somehting before i decide to take it apart and lube it up.. lmk

this shiuld of been posted in the tech talk thread..
but to throw in some input . your bov could be seized. i've never heard or seen this happen to an ssqv though. take your bov off , spray the inside with some wd40, try to push the valve in as far as you can a few times and put the bov back on... just an idea

The WG line is a Boost source in front of the throttle plate. It will never operate a BOV.

This is how it should be setup
Top left nipple on throttle body to Bov (boost gauge connected) Right top is capped off if not using canister Bottom nipple hooked to fpr Nipple on Hotpipe hooked to Wastegate(MBC is hooked to this line) I hope this helps at all... to me it seems like your throwing the vacuum back into the bov causing it not to operate |

They work on pressure differential. One side of the diagram/valve is on the charge pipe. The other side is the vacuum port which runs to the manifold side of the TB. When the TB is open the pressure on the port has pressure on it equal to the charge pressure. This with the light spring keeps the valve closed. When you let off the throttle the TB closes and vacuum is created in the intake manifold. Now there is Vacuum on the port side of the BOV. In push style BOVs this creates a pressure differential that allows the boost in the charge pipes to push open the valve an vent. In Pull styles it uses the vac to pull the valve open to allow boost pressure to vent.

this is WRONG. Both top Nipples on T/B are Vaccum, they are behind the trottle plate, (inside the intake manifold) The bottom nipple is boost, it is before the Trottle plate. Technically this nipple is the same as having one on the hot pipe. To OP hook it up like this Top nipple on T/B, there are 2 one goes to FPR, and FPR only Do NOT tee this line. other one goes to BOV, you can Tee this line for Boost/vac gauge. Bottom nipple can eithor be capped OR run to a W/G IF you dont have a nipple on hot pipe.
