s15 conversion
i have a 89 240sx fastback and i want an S15 headlight convresion. does anyone know how to or of a site that offers the conversion kit. because i read somewhere that you have to do a couple of custom mods to get it to fit right and i wanna know if yuo do or not.

do not get VIS or GTP fenders. Expect to pay a few grand for it. Changing the front end should not be cheap. so dont cheap out. Go with JDM made conversion fenders only. CF hoods, ok you can go VIS or GTP etc.

PS. just bolting a S15 hood will leave gaps around the headlight area, so you either need to get a S15 to S13 conversion hood (is that right?) or use a S15 hood (like the VIS and GTP stuff) and custom modify the hood hinges to push the hhood forward.
You will have to cut into the front radiator support, remove some metal to fit the headlights. Thats all I can think of without ever having done the swap. |

i have a install write up on www.club240.com but its for an s14-s15 so i dont know if that will help you that much. Just go to the site and search "s15 install" my sn on club240 is s14.5boy. Hope it helps. Oh yea and BTW like HyperTek said DO NOT GET GTP OR VIS CONVERSION FENDERS!!!!!! remember while doing this conversion "you'll get what you paid for"

true that, i just spent $650 on my Masa fenders and another $400 on my gp sports front bumper
The phrase "you get what you pay for" GREATLY applies to this conversion For S13, I recommend you get the following parts: S15 oem headlights $750 CWings CF hood $400 Masa conversion fenders $650 S14 kouki or S15 radiator support $350 Your choice of JDM Brand bumper $400+ of course you want to finish out the kit with sidekirts and rear bumper another $600+ JDM kouki wing $250 JDM kouki taillights $550 misc stuff $50 Though, u better have a turbo under that hood KA-T or SR so add another $3000 to that Then another $1500 to do basic suspension mods So in all, the conversion will cost you a cool $8500 doing everything yourself, not including shipping and paint have fun and reach deep into those pockets

yeah, i wouldn't suggest it if you're car is a daily driver or cant afford it if you wreck it.
I also forgot to mention you have to remove the front impact bar in order to do the conversion, so if you wreck, your fooked

There have been multiple writeups on this site about it, and from what I have seen, it looks like an awful lot of work. You need to cut the impact bar out, and a lot of the Ebay kits have the GTP feders which I heard suck. Just be sure you know exactly what parts you are buying, etc. From what I found it looks like a lot of work, and the cost isn't that low, but It's worth it if done right in my opinon.

So long as it doesn't look like a teg I saw yesterday....damn body kit looked like somebody melted the two headlight holes so that they droop...and the fucking body gaps were litterally and inch or an inch and half,it was fugly as it gets...I think the true type R 2 door teg,in yellow 100% stock is a very pretty ride though

I also came upon this guide in Japanese:
http://www2.tip.ne.jp/~yasunr00/s14/s15/resipi.htm if nothing else, it may be good for the pictures detailing the steps.
