Starting Bugs
Ok,
I go to start the car, and the voltage reads 11.3 on my turbo timer. The car starts, but after making a weird machine gun sound, and it sounds like its really struggling. When it's idling the voltage still sucks, until I rev it past 3, then the alternator(?) must kick in and the voltage goes up to 14.5. WHATS GOING ON!? ![]()

I remember reading somewhere that a good way to test the alternator is by revving to see if the lights get brighter. If they do then the alternator is probably not good, if not then must be something else. I applied that test to my alternator when it was covered with oil and it seemed to be true. Once I got my new alternator, the lights stayed bright at all revs.
