s13 Redtop SR20DET wont crank over

hi everybody My S13 was running fine except for the occasional hesitation to start on the first crank. Today however I parked the car for a few hours and I went to start it to go the gym and it wont even crank. My radio, gauges and lights all work fine with no dimming. The battery is brand new. only a few days old. I can hear the fuel pump come on but the starter wont click like when it is going bad or anything. So i doubt it is that. I already searched the threads but I still need a bit more specific direction. Im new to the 240 Family but I am good with tools so if I can get a few tips I'm sure I will be able to fix it if pointed in the right direction! Thanks!

First make sure the starter ground isn't loose. Shit happened to me...its a little single tab connector right on the starter.

That's not the ground. It grounds though the Engine. The tab is the start signal.

I will check that later today thanks for the heads up. I will keep you guys posted. I will also try hitting the starter with mallet to see if that works.

good news guys the Sileighty is up and running! I found the problem this morning after a closer inspection in the engine bay. The culprit was a bad ground. I found the wire dangling so I reattached to the firewall and tightened that bitch down and she fired right up!!
