I don't think its necessary to have an electrical one if its in the cockpit. Plenty of quality mechanical gauges available. I currently have a glowshift gauge which has been fine so far, but i would really like to switch to a mechanical gauge. Electrical things can fail, where as a much gauge is far less likely.
