the only thing that i think is holding the game back is car modification... compared to forza...
the g25/g27 arn't fully supported yet in GT5, but come tomorrow they will be so that should fix your problems

^^^So the update goes down tomorrow?
GT5 Spec 2.0 & DLC Details: Standard Car Interiors, Replay Controls, New Cars, New Tracks, & More

I'm bracing for disappointment. 11 new Nascar cars that I'll never use. Yippee. A new GTR race car? Cool, but I race street cars ALOT more than I do the stickered race cars.

I think the things that most of us are hoping for (more street cars, more new/classic tracks) will probably come from the upcoming DLC's instead of the big 2.0 update. I wonder how much that'll cost.

I don't think we'll ever get to change the wheels and aero on our S13 hatches, S14's & etc...

Interior on standard cars and midgame saves is a big improvement to me.

I may actually beat A-spec now (been holding off on any endro over 4hrs).

That BTR was hard to tune the oversteer out of. I found a tune for it on GTforums that worked pretty good.

Ok. Mine took about an hour to finish the update. First impressions? Meh...
- Altered car physics made some of my favorite cars bouncy. Gotta retune the suspensions.
- A, B & C settings for each car. Useful, but old news if you played GT4.
- You can skip around in replays forwards & backwards now, like watching a DVD.
- The online lobby remembers your room preferences now.
- The In-Car view for the Standard Cars is basically like racing while sitting in a silhouette. Ironically, I find this easier to drive in this mode than the Premium cars, with all their pretty interior distractions.

Thats all I noticed so far. Hardly a "game changer".

DLC content
Gran Turismo 5 DLC Coming October 18th, Includes Spa Francorchamps

Wish they didnt jump on that DLC bandwagon like EA and Forza do, making you pay for it..

Spa is an awesome track btw

Can't wait for Update 3.0 and the next DLCs.

One thing I want to see is more room settings to create really specific rooms with more rules. For example:

- Room "Comment" is the name of the room
- When in the lobby, there should be a room "description/rules" section where the host can type up the rules or explanation of the room (aka 1 lap behind the pace car, must pit in once during the 10 lap race etc etc)
-There should be a way to integrate and enforce different classes in a single room. For example, in a Super GT room, there should be a way for GT5 to know which cars are GT500 and for me to set the power cap to 500ps for those, and 300ps for the GT300 cars. Or Le Mans... for example 800hp for LMP/Group C cars and 500hp for GT class cars)
-To go deeper into that, there should be a way to limit of drivers per class ie. in a 16 driver room, limit of 8 GT500 cars and 8 GT300 cars, or 7/9 etc etc.
-There should also be a more specific way to limit which cars can get on track. For example, when I host a Ruf room, only Ruf's should even be allowed to get on course. I have people driving Civics and stuff and I have to kick them. I know it's possible for them to do this because they do it for all of the specific offline rooms in A-Spec and Seasonals.
-Option to have a CPU pace car do one lap before the race instead of having a human do it (aka me) so all can race and everyone is forced to follow the pace car (instead of people not understanding and taking off in front of the pace car on first lap)
-Option to just do rolling starts
-Specific sorting by car year (aka 90s only)
-Ability to start car clubs on GT5 (so we can start a Zilvia club.. members don't have to be PSN friends, but can see who is online and host private events etc.)

As well as

-Time progression on Sarthe/No chicane

The DLC content is looking JUICY!

Brings backs memories of race tuning all the cars like back in the early GT games. I don't mind paying honestly, $12 for all the extra's isn't bad at all IMO.

The new intro movie was pretty damn impressive.

Plus that new kart track is going to make a bonkers drift track.

True. But I'm not gonna spend money getting a steering wheel setup for this game. But man, I hate racing against ppl online who are clearly using a steering wheel. Bastards are soooo much faster. I'm up here hauling ass with near perfect lines, and I see a guy in a 500pp limited race crash and end up at the back of pack weave his way back through 8 other cars to finish in 1st place to win by like 4 seconds within 3 laps. WTF.

Yeah, gonna be getting that total DLC package. I want Standard production cars converted to Premiums, but I think we can pretty much give that up. But all those Touring cars aren't anything to shake a stick at.

But only 2 new tracks?! I'm so sad that I'm missing Hong Kong, Cote D'Azur, Cittra D'Aria, Apricot Hill and the rest... Hell, who remembers Special Stage 11 from GT3?! Great technical track!

I'm using a g27 and the 2.0 made a huge difference. The wheel seems a lot more responsive now and its easier to keep the car under control. Plus being able to map out the buttons is nice.

im not worried about button mapping.

when i use my g27 there is a dead zone in the steering wheel. is that what you mean about the steering being more responsive?

I want all of the small course tracks they had in GT4. Like the short training ones. Those were great for technical sliding.

Do the seb vettel online seasonal event, easy 5 mil for it.

Love the Logitech support now.. heel toe downshifting is a great experience to game racing. I still miss alot of gears though, you have to press the clutch all the way , would love it if they worked on that bit.
