Temporary Ebay Exhaust?

Long story short, the exhaust the PO of my car put on got ripped off. I get annoying amounts of backfire when slowing down, and just the loudness of no exhaust is annoying enough.

I was thinking about just buying this ebay exhaust because of it being cheap to use until I have the money to spend on a expensive exhaust.
There are videos of them on s13s on youtube, and they don't sound that bad..

Don't waste your money. Buy a used quality exhaust or an ISIS or something.

An $80 exhaust will probably sound worse than what you sound like now.
It's more of the loudness than the sound.

And It's for an s14. I don't think s13 exhaust fits on s14, does it?

Yea, my biscuit. I misread it then realized right after I found that exhaust for you lol. Definitely doesn't fit. The problem with that Ebay exhaust is that regardless of volume I think your gonna end up with an unbearable tone of buzziness.

That's what I was worried about.
I only have $200 to my name right now, and I'm trying to save as much as I can until I start my job.
I'm looking to see if anyone is selling any right now, but my shitty internet won't search zilvia.

Ur trollin ryte?

That ebay shit isn't any different.

It's pretty hard to fuck up on an exhaust.

Matter of fact, last time I saw a car with an ebay (SSautochrome) exhaust it fit better than my Apexi I had at the time.

True story. It killed me to know that the SS Autocrap headers (Hotshot Gen V copies) for the FWD SR20 crowed fit just as well, and didn't rust out.

Bought an Ebay exhaust for my S13 for under 100$ shipped. I also bought it for temporary use, because my previous exhaust broke, and I was planning on my next one being a nice fancy one.
However, I was pleasantly surprised, because the Ebay one actually fits better and tucks up higher than any brand name exhaust I have ever had.
I do dislike that it is loud and N1-styled, but at the same time it is not as loud as I expected; plus I have not even attempted using it with the silencer yet; and the fitment is much better than the HKS Hi-Power or the Apexi N1 that I owned at some point.
I still plan on purchasing an OEM-style exhaust one of these days, but for now I have no complaints.

Compare the loudness to an exhaust that is cut off right after the cat?
And what about the "buzziness"? Is it a deep sound, or does it have some buzzing in it?

I think he means that drone sound you can get from cheap tubing... That sound that will make you fall asleep when cruising on the highway...

Get a used one if you can find it, if not, the ebay ones can be ok, just do some research and make sure the brand / style you're looking at buying is one that you'll be happy with...

I think there's enough info out on the internetz

The one I purchased seems to have much thicker piping than another Ebay exhaust I owned a long time ago, thus not being 'buzzy.' Naturally, it would depend on which one you purchase.
Although I think any exhaust will be quieter than an open-cat.

This is the same kind I have currently.

You want a quieter exhaust so you want to get something off ebay??? I fail to see the logic here, as most ebay exhausts are thin walled and have cheap resonators/mufflers. I would get a quality unit that you know will be quiet or just replace it with a stock exhaust.

I'm sure it will be less loud than no exhaust at all.

I think I'm just going to go with this and hope for the best.
It's only temporary anyway. When i'm done I'll sell it for like 20 bucks.

man i have had GReddy and Apexi exhaust on my S14, but on my track whore S13 I went with the 3 inch ebay special and Love it. It fits excellent and is surprisingly tight to the car (most important on our slammed S chassis). I'd say go for it. It sounds good too, but thats assuming on the right engine... an NA KA will always sound like shit, even through Tomei Titanium glory pipes

I bought an Ebay 3.5in daul tip for my Ka24de S14 about a month or two ago.

The only reason I bought it was because my stock one cracked and was driving me nuts.

The Good:
It hugs the rear bumper perfectly.
It's not raspy or buzzy at all at WOT or while cruising.
Doesn't look ricey

The Bad:
Had to slightly beat a few hangers to get them to line up right.
The company forgot to send me the gaskets.
The tips were bent due to shipping. Packaging sucked ass.

I complained and sent angry emails. They ended up refunding me $40.

A bit loud IMO, but that might be because i'm N/A.
Sounds awesome with the silencers in though. Just paint 'em flat black and shove em in deep.
I'll get some pics and vids if you want.

they are pretty much all the same shit - chinese exhausts. as long as you have a resonated mid pipe you should be good.
