Ok follow up question after lots of lurking on the wheel fitment whore thread.
So if lets say I wanna run 18" rims and 245/40(35?) tires, what width rim should I go is 9 to 10ish the standard? Also Is it better to get rims with positive offsets and then use spacers, or just try to find a rim with the 0/neg offset I want, going for more of a flush look. If i go with just a 0 or lower offset well fitment within slightly rolled fenders be an issue, can run camber as I need to, but would like to keep camber at ~ -2.5* EDIT: I think I answered my question with more research... so am I correct in saying that in order to clear (30mm rotors z32 lets say) I need to run a more positive offset wheel and then use a spacer correct? Because if I just used a negative offset wheel it wouldn't clear the caliper right? |

First off, offset has absolutely NOTHING to do with brake clearance. Wheel face design is what makes the difference and most big name wheel companies (SSR, Work, etc) has different faces, for the same wheels, to clear certain brakes. Spacers wise, if you have to use spacers, you're doing it wrong. The goal is to get the right wheels you want, to fit, without spacers. If you get the right rim faced wheels, with the correct width and offset, you shouldnt have to use spacers. As far as camber for wheel fitment, people use it to clear fenders with less fender pulling. If you got any specific question, just shoot me a PM... |

I'm looking at a set of sick SSR GT1s for a really fair deal. They'd look great on my car however they're +45 offset. Buying these would be teriffic because it would be the same offset roughly and bolt pattern as my 3000gts
I have an S13 of which I have 50mm widebody fenders out back and 40mm up front. I was going to go with 4 to 5 lug adapters (real ones made of quality material) which are 45mm wide. What size spacer would I have to go with additional to this to make these sit about flush. Also is that really safe at all?

And just to clarify currently i have the fenders up front and back rolled a bit. So what I am thinking is 18x9.5 -5(maybe 10 depending on everything) with 245/40/18 18x10 -5(same as above) with 245(255?)/40/18 |

Secondly, on stock fenders and wide tires, stay away from negative offset wheels. Its hard enough to fit these wheels on skinny assed/stretched tires. If you insist on running 245-255 width tires and not beat the living crap off the fenders to pull them, kick it down to +20 ish offsets on the 9.5/10j width rims). Quote:
Step away from the car, stop modding and then sell it if you think this is remotely okay or safe... ![]() I wouldnt attempt it, specially up front on S13s. You'd have to do alot of work to make it fit up front. Without modding the ever living crap out of the wheel well, you can kiss your lock to lock steering. |

10.5j in the rear stretched on 235s and some camber is doable. Less camber if you can pull the fenders more but watch out for the rear fender buckling/denting in.

I got new tires on my S14 and I'm not too thrilled with the sizes, need some help for my next tire purchase, current setup is:
18x9 +25 = 235/40/18 18x10 +24 = 255/35/18 I'm no good at picking sidewall sizes, but I'd like to run 245's up front, and 265's in the rear, what side wall ratio can I go with that will look normal? When viewing my car from the side, my rears right now look thinner then my fronts, and this bugs me. |

You can use the tire calculator and shoot for roughly the same overall diameter. But from the look of it, 235/40-18 and 265/35-18 is pretty close to each other. Also, another thing to think about is that different tire brand will measure out their tires differently. Some company's tires are more under sized than others. Some example, last digit is the overall diameter Federal 595 235/40ZR18 91W 26.40 25.3 265/35ZR18 93W 28.38 25.2 Falken FK452 235/40ZR18 95Y RF 26.2 25.3 265/35ZR18 97Y RF 27.1 25.3 Nitto NT05 235/40ZR18 25.4 265/35ZR18 25.3 |

Ok so we are running weds 18x11 in the rear with 50mm overs on an s13 coupe and running 235s on them and lots of camber... question is what size tire would be better to fit the rear with less camber and still fit an 11in wheel????

Stretching on an S13, 215/40-18 and 225/40-18 or 225/40-18 and 235/40-18 for a lil more meat. Less tire means less you'd have to pull the rear fenders.

Question is on a s13 I'm looking to do Sp1 .. The offset I got a front are 17x9.5 +5,-8 and the rears are 17x10 +11,-1. Which would be a better offset for a s13 with minimal pull and which tires specs should I go with?

Stock fenders with minimal pull with wide wheels that negative offset do no go into the same sentence at all. Well without plenty of hammer work that is. Unless you want to run massive stretch and your alignment settings to where it is dialed in at no longer logical specs. Among the specs you posted, personally, if those are the only choices, I would just go with the +5 up front and the +11 in the rear. Negative offset is nice for cars that have deep inner fenders unlike the S13. For a 10" on a S13 +18 offset is already pushing it and you will need like a 215/40 in the rear and plenty of useless camber. For the fronts, I'd go with 205/40 and then hammer those lips out. You'll need it. If it were me, I would never go through all of this for the sake of making shit fit. +15 is a magical number for 9.5" and for 10" +22 fits for the rears and then some. Meaning you could still tweak your alignment settings without having to worry much about fucking with your fenders too much. |

Personally, I'd go slightly higher offset for S13s due to the small front wheel well area. If it was my car, I would go 9.5 +18 on 215/40-18 and 10j +12 on 225/40-18. Not everybody likes to run rubber band/stretched tires tho. My recommendation honestly is take a look into rimtuck and see what folks are running on their S13s and copy a setup that you like.

Yeah sorry idk the exact offset but the outter lip is 6in inner is 5 ither way we went with 245/35 which dont look too dangerous. I tripped out that the stretched factor is different from each tire company whent with 3 different tires falken/nitto and hankook which had the best looking strech all in the same size... crazy thanks anyway ps sorry for the shitty spelling
