Gauge Wiring: Does this look ok?
Wiring up 3 electrical autometer gauges. I suck at wiring so I want to make sure this looks semi legit. A couple questions:
-is it ok to splice all three guages into one wire and then splice that wire into the ACC power wire and ground wire as shown in the diagram? -is it ok to splice the illumination blub wires into these 2 wires as well? -The cigarette lighter wires look to be either 16-18 guage. Will these wires be able to withstand powering the gauge and illumination bulb for all 3 gauges? If this setup looks completely retarded, please give me some opinions on possible changes. ![]() |

Everything you have done is ok and I have done something similar to this myself. I didnt tap into the cig lighter however but as long as you have a solid ground then you'll be fine. You should wire the illlumination to a switch on source, tap around with a test light in the wires beneath the column shroud and you'll find a headlamp wire to tap into.

im not sure how many amps is going to the cig lighter. but if its enough to support all three guages and the lighter then youll be okay. i dont feel like i is though.
