you can keep your stock drive shaft.

I have a n/a z32 diff in my s13 you just need the longer bolts for the front of the diff and everything bolts right up

Why would you put a Z32 diff on an S13 ? OEM VLSDs have a limited life and cannot be serviced. The chances for anyone to find a working Z32 VLSD (working as in "being able to lock more than 3 or 4 corners") is quite thin. Unless you have a serviceable item ?

Err ... yeah well there is a reason for that: it is expensive to make, and only a few people buys them.

I dont see the point in installing a busted VLSD from a different model. The op may as well install an S13 opendiff, it will be easier to find, cheaper and will do the same as a busted VLSD.

If the OP does not want to drift, then an S15 HLSD is the cheapest LSD i know, and one of the most gentle on the drivetrain. I got mine complete in the pumpkin for 350€ shipped.

^ maybe a 1000 dollar diff isnt priority to many other 1000 dollars worth of stuff that needs replaced on a 20+ year old car.

Hence the 350€ S15 HLSD, or the odd 100$ S13 open diff that will perform the same as worn out Z32 VLSD.

No you don't.

As far as prioritizing expenditures, good things cost money. Cheap out, and one will very likely get exactly what he/she paid for
