Exclamation I have a few questions on Coilovers, please help.

I have got a '92 S13 fastbcack. For my car I want to try and get the best of the best. I was curios to know, What do i need to buy to go along with my coilovers.

Do i need to buy a set of rear upper control arms, and camber plates along with the coilovers.

I know that the JIC FLT-A2 & 1 both come with camber plates for the front, so ill need to buy upper control arms, am i correct?

I was looking into the KTS Coilover (www.splparts.com), Tein FLEX & HE coilovers, does anyone know if they come with camber plates?

Of the coilovers setups I mentioned which one would you choose? Opinions please.

Please help

Thanks
Danny

u dont need to buy anything else to run with the coilovers, its all up to u if u wanna buy arms or whatever. both the flex and he come with camber plates

what will u be using the car for? more info needed to determine which coilover setup to buy.

I just thought that in order to adjust the camber in the rear I would need the upper control arms, am I wrong?

When the next Auto-X season starts I will be racing then. I have some real fun roads where I live that I like to drive. I will do the ocasional drag race.

theres no need to buy RUCA, unless u need more adjustability of the camber. like if u wanna fit massively wide rims or something like that.

rear camber has a small amount of adjustability from the factory, and you can add even more without going to pillowball RUCAs... just using offset RUCA bushings (Whiteline makes them, get them from PDM). Still not as much adjustability as a pillowball RUCA, but more durable on the street and softer on the old butt (and the wallet, too).

lol you want the best of the best? I dont think you can afford that. Go with some ZEAL super functions if you are anxious to blow 3 grand on some coilovers. Otherwise, buy what you can afford. Pretty much any decent coilover you buy will serve you well. Do consider whether or not the units can be overhauled here in the states...

yeah, kts and jic hardly can be said to be the best of the best.

two words:
advanced design =) more trick than you know what to do with

but, you really don't need to best to start off with. cheap stuff will do the job. anything that is adjustable height and dampering with pillow mounts should be good enough. all the coilovers you mentioned have camber plates,

like the above mentioned, you dont need the best of the best. However the above mentioned coilovers, (JIC flta2 and a1us, tein He and Flex, and KTS) are between $1000-$1500, and are all very nice coilovers. The HE maybe the least favored of the bunch b/c of its features. Research all of them and pick from the ones that appeal to you the most.
One coilover you didnt mention is the D2 coilover. Use the search function to learn more about them. They seem to be all the rave among coilovers. i might be sourceing my self a pair, in the near future.
Rather than throwing out anymore misinformation, heres a link that will tell you almost everything you need to know about most every coilover on the market for the 240sx/silvia.
Peep it.....30 moons.com Informative Coilover Comparison
