To build a temporary booth and buy supplies and tools your looking to spend around 3000 plus stripping the car and changing color is time consuming your better of finding someone that does it on the side that knows what they are doing

100% agree with this: "stripping the car and changing color is time consuming" - it took me 3x the hours I planned on.

But I setup a paint booth in my parents garage (total cost $65), bought a used compressor and cheap stuff form Harbor Freight and TCI Global and my total cost for full color change is currently sitting at $1000. Cheap HF gun works fine but wastes paint. I bought low cost paint from The Coating Store and it has been great too. Certainly not for everyone though due to the time and space needed.
