Thinking about picking up some 15x10 -40 wheels for my s13. And my question is: I have 38mm extended flca and cut knuckles. Will I run into issues with hitting suspension at full lock? I know my wheels will be poking out that much more but think 50mm fender flares should cover the whole wheel and tire? Im sorry if this isn't where I should be posting this but it's relevant to this thread.

^ Nah, you probably won't have any major interference issues with a reasonably short tire (like 225/50, 205/55, 205/50… you get the idea).
For comparison: I currently have forged PBM RC-correction knuckles, +56mm FLCAs, 16x9 -32 (effective offset including the spacer), and 225/45/16 up front. I don't come close to hitting the tension rod or sway bar at full lock, and I don't rub my harness after tucking it far up and out of the way. I probably would hit the front side of the wheel wells, but I cut them out so no worries there. Fender clipping on the leading edge is minimal with longer homemade fender bracket things. Look though this thread and others on Zilvia. There are quite a few S13s using 15x10 -40ish wheels up front.

There's just a difference between the people that want to go out and have a good time drifting or whatever, and the people that are very VERY particular about what they want. Not trying to step on anyone's toes or anything.

A few online sites carry them from time to time. I used to run 225/45/16 KDWs but they went out of production. Now I'm using 225/45 N3000s, but I don't know if those are still in production either.
I'm on my phone so I can't check now, but try poking around on TireRack, DiscountTire, OnlineTires.com, and Tires-Easy.com. They're usually a good start. Edit: looks like there are a good number of them still in production being sold by some of the sites above. Maxxis MA-V1 for $64 each, Nexen N3000 for $90 each, Falken FK-452 for $110 each, BFG KDW2 for $128 each, and a good collection of sticky ones too.

unfortunately i dont have any pics yet, but my SSR mesh centers went in for refinishing today! they should be back to me on Tuesday/Wednesday!!!!
im having 2 of the centers acid bathed (they were chromed), all 4 will be completely stripped, media blasted and shot with a silver powder coat!!! now all i need to do is find some new nuts and bolts, i think i might take a trip to the hardware store this weekend so i can put them back together completely next week...SUPER EXCITED! ![]() PS: i picked up a S15 helical LSD and output shafts earlier in the week too from a guy i know in thailand, should take about a month to get here. no more one turner burner! |
