I have s14 tein inners on my s13 with the tein spacers and it seems like there was plenty of threads left. Also make sure you use locktite!

You can't use z32 or z33 inner tie rods with s13 outer tie rods as they are thicker

You are a genius!

I would just use SPL Z33 outers, but only if you're a baller.

Some answers:

Z32 and Z33 inner tie rods are SHORTER than the S13/S14 ones, so they won't work.

Z32 or Z33 outer tie rod ends will not fit the S13/S14 spindles.

Our SPL outer tie rod ends will fit the S13/S14 spindles and are longer than the stock S13/S14 outer tie rod ends (that is why they are intended to be used with the shorter Z32/Z33 inners for those with stock knuckles), so they will provide you with the extra thread engagement you need with the modified knuckle. They are a direct fit with your Tein inners, so you won't need to change the inners.

Does anyone know if s13 and s14 tie rods are interchangeable?

both will thread into the steering jack, but the threads for the outer tie rods are different between the two. Most aftermarket outer tie rods use the s14 thread pitch.

so, sorry for bringing this 4month old topic back up but...if I buy my step bro's Tien S14 inners...and got OEM S14 outers...then the S14 inner would fit the rack, the s14 inner and s14 outers will fit each other, and the S14 outers will fit into my S13 OEM knuckle...am I correct??

sorry to bump an old thread but can you use tein s13 inners with spl outers on stock knuckle then? or does it have to be z32 and z33 oem only?
