Has GReddy issued a CARB # for the KA kit...?

Don't think so, as of yet. So it's not legit w/o a real #, correct?

I've a feeling you'll be in deeper sh!t with a fake CARB # than just a fake "plaque", like the GSR guys...at least they have a real # to reference...

While searching through sites of kit sellers, I have found these carb numbers:
"CARB E.O. # D-397, D-397-3, D-397-7". I found these numbers on this site: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...tegoryID=42217
Anyone else see these numbers? Could they be real, or what? It says that you need to contact greddy about the numbers. I did that and have yet to receive a response...

Cops in CA aren't ignorant about stuff like that in anymore. They're idiots if they really think they can get away with it. Cops go through special training for stuff like this. Especially the CA Hwy Patrol, they have an entire book with listings of illegal car modifications. It's a total waste of money.

I've seen cops at 7-11 reading Import Tuner and Super Street. They browse public forums like Honda-tech and read up on stuff like this.

A lot of cops (especially in Cali where they get specific training for this crap) probably won't be fooled. The thing about the Greddy kit for 240's is that it's pretty specific (OBD2 only) and fairly distinguishable. I mean as far as 240's go pretty much nobody is going to make a custom kit and use a top mount internally wastegated turbo.

I guess it couldn't hurt to try but damn, I'd hate to be the guy that got not only caught with illegal mods but also a forged document.

hahahahahah this is the funniest shit i've ever read....

HAHAHAHAHAHA

allow me to explain how it works. cops are going after ignorant kids who are stupid. the ones with the fancy body kits, fancy paint jobs, illegal clear tail lights, shitty glaring HID retrofits, bumping stereos, and motors that are poorly put together with no emissions and are excessively loud.

i have friends with shop cars, ones that are tastefully modified and so clean, that you cant even tell they are modiifed. actually, you cant even tell whats illegal from legal. cops are normal people, i have plenty of customers who've bought products from me who are in law enforcement. now EVERY cop is going to slam you down for having modifications, its all about how stupid you are.. and how obvious you make things.

yeah .. im sure driving around with a HUGE chrome intercooler is going to attract attention -- dont be surprised when they cite you.

You make some good points...A beat to shit car, with a hella load exhaust is just asking for trouble. Note a key word in there...LOUD exhaust. I think that is the number one reason people get pulled over. I have a intercooler thats pretty noticable...but my exhaust is conservative. Hence, I have been tailed a few times now, and they just drive right on by...

Just my .02

Just like teh US Import scene, knock off body kits and rims, now carb decals?? heheh

pretty soon.. cuz of this kinda crap.. .im pretty sure law is gonna require manufactures to stamp the e.o. numbers on the items themselves... all because people abuse the law..

I can drop in any engine I want if it fits and the state/city doesnt care... i can run with no cat, even tell a police officer when I get pulled over, and he wont care either...
besides, whats wrong with hampster shit? its soooo tiny, you just get a scooper and you're golden

i ono i think it depends were you live... Where i live cops are pretty lenient, i havent had a front plate on my car and had n1 duals (which are not the quietest things) on my car for a year... They usually pull u over and give you fix it tickets if ur driving like a dumb ass, flooring it and down shifting creating a lot of attention.
