You need a pilot bearing removal tool, and a slide hammer. Then you need to get in behind the bearing, and open that tool up as much as possible. Like have a friend open it with a wrench while you hold. Then use the slide hammer. If that really doesn't work (and it does), you can use a pipe wrench. I don't suggest it.
And 5-speed cars do have the pilot bearing, but it's shorter. You need to install a manual pilot bearing after removing the automatic one.

I posted the picture so you could see what the fuck I was talking about..

What I highlighted wasn't the pilot bearing--the pilot bearing goes inside of that brass ring. There is little, if any, grooves inside of that ring and a slide hammer can't catch them..

I tried a pipe wrench but that didn't work either..
