What did i do wrong? Help

I have a s13 coupe and i just recently bought the tein HE coilovers. I put them on with a few friends. Here is the problem, i have the coilover on standard hardness(which is 12 click from the hardest setting) for just normal street driving.

The ride is really bumpy but that doesn't bother me, what bothers me is when ever i make a turn around 35-50 in a corner (right turn), but in the middle of the turn i can feel the left side coilver pressing down but its retracing(boucing back up really quick) which makes the car bounce through the turn everytime. It feels to me like the coilover is pressing down then bouncing back up then down again. I don't think thats what it suppose to do, i expect coilover to set in during the turn and not bounce back up until i exit the corner.

What wrong with it ? :hammer: Is it because maybe the coilver over height isn't all the same length? (i used what they gave me stock) Or is it because of the setting of my spring rate? should i not have all 4 coilover at the same rate? if any one can help PLZ DO.

i'm planning to go to a shop if this still keeps on happening and ask them to re-adjust the height of the coilver.

Thank you guys very much. appreciated

You're hitting a bumpstop on the left side, probably the front.

You say you have all four the same rate - what rates did you get? If you reduced the front rates to make them equal to the rears, at the standard HE height setting (which is very low IIRC) 6k could be too soft.

Also consider the condition of your front sway bar bushings.

Set the damping to a stiffer level and see if that changes anything.

i have tried to set my spring settings at 0(hardest) and at 12(standard according to tein) and 16 (softest) all of these settings feels like something is wrong through corners. i haven't tried to adjust the setting differently between the front and the back. i should set the front harder?

I really don't think a car should bounce that much through corners. its not like i'm drifting through corners, even a 20-30 mph 90 degree turn bounces alot :hammer: . i have called tein's customer service and they said this is normal since this set of coilvers are for drifting. i don't know if they are trustworthy. it just feels awkward to me. If any of you guys knows this problem please feel free to leave and comments. Thanks alot. apprecitated

Well, the settings are backwards. 16 is the hardest and 0 the softest.
Check the large bolt on the camber plate. Mine recently started to come loose, which let the whole assembly bounce up and down. Good thing I caught that.

it's hard to diagnose something like this on the net. why dont you track down a local Zilvian who lives closeby and have him test drive it.

did you buy the coilovers brand new? the way it sounds is that there is 0 rebound in the shocks. maybe they are blown.

compress all 4 corners of your car by hand and see if one corner feels softer and/or bounces more than the others.

These are new coilovers i just bought a week ago. I tried to compress my car but all four corners feels the same except the front and the rear. the rear is softer and have more bounce when i try to compress it but the front is pretty stiff and barely goes down. SIGH* this sucks

A friend of mine had a similer problem on his Miata. He's running a ground control/AGX setup and at first it was really bouncy. After a few weeks of driving it setteled down a lot and an alingenment finished it.
