i dont see any downsides to it, however either pan needs a baffle on any car making around 550whp and hooking it on the street...

I watched my oil pressure drop from 90psi down to 30psi on a 2nd gear hit on the street on roughly 550whp put a nice baffled sump on there and that issue went away... I am running a Tomei Pump FYI.
