SR + Z32 transmission shift pattern question

Question:
Does Xcessive's shift bracket change the shift pattern on Z32 transmissions mated to an SR?

Background:
I've mated a Z32 transmission to an SR with Mazwork' kit and Xcessive's shift bracket. Since then, I've noticed that the shift pattern is more like a "W" configuration instead of the traditional "H". Specifically, I have to angle my shifts between 1-2 & 4-5. I speculate that Xcessive's shift bracket is the cause and this is considered "normal". But I want to know if this is the consensus from those with the same setup.

Here's the angle I have to shift to get into gear:
1st gear to 2nd gear: position 1 to position 4
2nd gear to 3rd gear: position 4 to position 3
3rd gear to 4th: position 3 to position between 4 and R
4th gear to 5th gear: position 4 to position 5

This is the short bracket used to maintain a near-stock shifter location for the S13.

The way they shortened the shift linkage is just making the throw feel funny to you. No it doesn't actually change the shift pattern inside the transmission.

From the photos it looks like that kit moves the shifter to the center for better alignment into the chassis, the Z32 shifter actually sits offset to the left and that's the mazworx kit fits the way that it does. So if you angle the shift linkage to center the shifter you'd be adding that respective angle to the shift pattern.

Thanks for the insight, guys. I'm still curious to know if that's the consensus with those that have the same setup.
