Have you ever tried taking out the rear main seal housing? It's a bitch on an engine stand, even worse when the engine is in the car.

If it's not leaking, don't replace it. This is not the only time you will have the transmission out.

lol its actually easier in the car because there's nothing in the way when the trans is off
