Riding the woods/desert was how motocross started in the USA, also a famous racer from Belgium Roger De Coster who promoted the sport (Motocross) in the USA helped it become a sanctioned sport. Bob Hannah was a Cali bloke who rode through the desert on his bike as a kid with out formal training. He ended up winning multiple national/world championships.
Motocross is now a sanctioned sport and pays good money (compared to "drifters" who sell wheels online to make rent).
Grassroots is a thing, but the Nissan/import and especially the "drifting" scene (per usa) killed it off by being pretensions dick heads. They didn't want to grow the sport ever, now you have professional drivers from other sports taking your place because it is easy to make a buck beating the so called grassroots guys.
It is called making your own grave, keep reselling you jdm parts and over priced wheels, silly puppies.
All the 240 or nissan cars are about wheels, trading, not racing, a car is not meant to look at it is meant to preform. But, they wonder why no one cares, Autocross and go karts are way more fun then having some pretensions "drifter" telling you how to drive. I would drift my go kart straight around any bodykitted 18 wheel rusted out 240 chassis they run in cali. My 98 240 will sit in my garage

Dude I fucking HATE 90s 'style'. When I reference it I pretty much draw the line at 16" wheels and no aero. Flat, small steering wheels are lame, high offset 15"-16" wheels are lame, and Wangan wings are suuuuuuper fucking lame.
90s Style was cultiavted by dudes that wanted to act like they knew the 'culture' but got into the 'game' late. When they got into the 'game', they quickly realized they couldn't afford the early 00s stuff (Rays wheels, aero, seats) so they went further back and went all in.
I guess on the other end of the spectrum we have the same handful of cars on IG getting clout and they constantly shout each other out and participate in a circle jerk.

Do you even own a car? 16 wheels/big tires, stock aero with options, that is what I am talking about 90s style.
17+ rims on a 240 make it look like a matchbox car, clown car lmao. Stock is always best looking no need to fuck up the function to fit flashy wheels like a train you ride around.
