Habitual line steppers create an environment that breeds more line stepping. You'd like to give people benefit of the doubt and err on the side of free expression. . . Then people like that show up almost demanding they be made an example of.
Certain individuals will call it martyrdom but the likelihood of them also being habitual line steppers is high.
