Now that my SR is in and running, I need some gauges, notably boost and oil pressure. I was thinking of getting a third, EGT seems pretty popular, but is it really necessary for a non-highly tuned SR? Even with mods, I probably won't go past 250hp and the stock T25 for a long time.

How does a EGT help you monitor engine performance anyway? From what I gather it's just an alternative to an air/fuel gauge.

Do greddy electronic oil pressure and egt gauges still require drilling to mount a sensor in the engine compartment?

yes it is but it actually has use the egt is based on mixture temp rises on lean condition and drops with richer mixtures

it gives you a signifigantly more accurate meter of AFR than anytihing except a wideband
