I know a lot of Supra guys who run a wideband in their cars daily...the sensors do eventually wear out (over THOUSDANDS of miles), but it's fine to do.

A couple Honda models even run a wideband as the factory O2 sensor...so it's fine to use them daily.

Yeah I've read that as long as you keep the actual unit hooked up, the heater element or something will keep the o2 sensor working for miles and miles. If you just leave the o2 sensor in there not hooked up to the lm-1 unit, your sensor will mess up (that's the word on the street/freshalloy)
