There is guy at my work selling two used 10" JBL GT's in a sealed box for $100.  They are in good shape and have no visual defects.  Sound like a good deal to you guys?  I'm pretty sure there isn't anything wrong with them.  He's a stand up guy.  They sounded pretty good in his old CRX he had.

Sounds like a good deal. Its well known that JBL makes good speakers. Thing is that the sound he was getting from them in his CRX is going to be diff then you 240, cause the size of the cars are pretty diff. I used to run 2 10in Orion DVC's in my old --- old hatchback. They sounded really good but when I sold them to my friend and he put them in his trunk they didnt seem to be as loud. He also bought amp, cables and farret cap so I know that wasnt the prob... But that was just my experiance.

just make sure they work and look hard for any rips/tears/deteriation etc.  are you ready to buy an amp and cap and have all that installed? you will need some juice to run the subs.

Me and my roommate will install it.  He was a professional installer for a year or so.

What size amp do you guys suggest for them?  I want a good amp that will give Clean response from the speakers.  I prefer SQ over SPL.  I'm also gonna be running an amp on my Front components at the same time, probably 75 watt 2 channel.  What kind/size of Capasiter?

In order to get a properly sized amp you need to know which version of the gt 10's they are. I went to JBL's website and saw a 4-ohm, 8-ohm, and dual 4-ohm voice coil version. If you have the 8-ohm version then i would wire the two subs in parallel and would bridge a Digital Audio DA2800 amp or a Logic Sound Lab LSX2600 and if you have the 4-ohm vesion then again i would wire the two subs in parallel and get the Digital Audio DA1800 mono amp or the Logic Sound Lab GSX26HC mono amp. If you have the dual 4-ohm voice coils then i would wire each sub's voice coils in parallel to achive a 2-ohm load on each sub and run 2-channel Digital Audio DA2800 or 2-channel Logic Sound Lab LSX2600

As for capacitor, i would definately follow the golden rule of 1-farad capacitor per 1000 watts of power. Might i sugest either a http://www.ballistic-mobile.com/item.cf....s&cat3= or a http://www.ballistic-mobile.com/item.cf....s&cat3= . If you are interested in any of these products i can give you a Zilvia.net discount.
