I think I know what you mean, champ... I get that too. I had no idea what it could be at first, then read some, and thought it might be the chain guide. So I removed the valve cover today to change the gasket (seemed to be leaking oil) and took the chain guide out at the same time.

Still have rattling that grows more and more (frequent) from nothing (cold start) to constant rattle (at warm idle) I can't imagine it goes away during partial or full throttle, though I wouldn't be able to hear it anyway.

Any other ideas? It sounded very ... audible (duh) so I am led to believe it's exterior, i.e. our radiator fan hitting a loose piece of plastic or something like that, rather than interior i.e. a cracked bearing or whatever.
