eh? this is supposed to work?

that little highlighted nub up in there is the TIP of the O2 sensor with it threaded all the way in. I feel that I should probably shorten the bung so its in the exhaust stream more (I can shorten it almost a half inch), but if the consensus is that this is supposed to be fine then i'll just leave well enough alone.

Its fine, can you imagine gasses not getting in there? Doesnt really matter anyway esp since youre not using a wideband there.

Yeah, it should be in the center of the exhaust flow.

When I installed mine I thought that looked wierd, but I put it in anyway and it works fine.

thats fine, they actually sell spacers for wideband set ups so you dont fry it... there is no way that exhaust gases arent getting there.

That's good to hear. I guess I was assuming the O2 sensor needed to stick into the stream to have exhaust rushing directly through it, but youre right that could be harmful to the sensor, not to mention cause turbulence. im sure it'll swirl enough up in there plenty to get a proper reading. Its just the first time i'd seen O2 fitment designed that way, is all.

my 02 sensor is like that too.
and you wouldn't want the wideband that close to the turbo, put it in the downpipe
