![]() i was wondering if $700 dollars for a ka24 motor and transmission sounds like a good deal. it has 160,000 miles on it but burns/leaks no oil and supposibly runs strong. also wanted to know if a 95 and up ka24 is the same as a 91-94 ka24.

Give me $100 for my 95 ka24de only 70k miles. Oh never mind this aint a "for sale thread". Its not a good deal at all. Whoever thinks they can get that much for a 160k mile engine is out of their mind. For twice as that you can get a redtop.

Sorry for the long time before I got to reply. No, there are problems with the engine or transmission, except it is missing a throttle body and the wiring harness. Everything else was in perfect working order before I swapped the engines. Um I would have to check on shipping and I dont know how long the drive is. I live just out side of Nashville if you know how long that is. If you wanted me to check on shipping and if you are still thinking about getting it pm me.

91-94 is not the same as 95 which is not the same as later 95 which is not the same as 96-98
you can put any dohc motor in any dohc car without much problem though. and a 160k ka24 is worth under $100 bucks IMO. |

In my opinion thats a rip off. I got my 92 KA24DE 11:1 high compression with 80,000 on it and 8,000 since the high compression rebuild and I got the engine harness, engine, tranny and tranny has a ACT 4 punk clutch in it, ecu, MAF and Injen intake for $650. Then for $100 more (from the same guy) I got the OBX header. Which is super nice. I cost alot more then that new. So for $750 I got a high compression engine with 80k 8k on rebuild, tranny with ACT 4 puck clutch, ECU and engine harness, MAF and Injen intake, OBX header. So to me thats not really too good of a deal...but then again I got a pretty good deal on mine

hey fellas, i found one w/ about 100-120k on it. actually i found acouple, but they usually want 600+ for these motors. is that a rip off? and plus the shipping to me is 300+ as well. thats already more than my car, and partialy an SR swap. im looking to pay at least 400, does that sound about right for a KA dohc?

I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a good KA with tranny and everything included. |

You just have to look around the right areas, most of us buy them from other 240 owners who are doing engine swaps. Any local shop that does a lot of SR/RB swaps will probably have KA's just laying around to give away. I picked mine up at a shop...
