Whats a good first car to get. I want the car to be stick shift and I don't want to spend more them 3000 dollars. I would like to spend 1,500-2000. I only want the car for like about 1 year or less. So it must be manual and be no more them 3000.

I really want an eg hatch as a beater/daily driver. You can make it all right fast and kicks ass for winter, gas milage, and it dosent look that bad.

Hell yeah. Thats why I <3 my teggie,if I had the $$ I'd do more work,but oh well. A friend of mine has a mid 13 second daily driver NONVTEC integra that still gets 20-25mpg daily driver!!

Get a 240. DUhhh.. WHy would you ask such a question on a 240 board. Your description fits a lot of cars. You can get a CRX with a B16a swap for 3k or less. If you dont mind driving a complete pile of shit you can always get a saturn. (i'd go with the crx)

little stuff go bad on them but they always run. (what i mean by little stuff is like door handles or some interior parts)
they arent gas hogs.
they go for ever specially mk1 mk2 and mk3 i dont know about mk4 and mk5
i had a mk2 gti 16v and a mk3 gti vr6 i love those 2 engines

I would want to get the 240sx after this car. I want a s14 but I only want a cheap first car so I can basically learn to drive and it can be something I wont be afraid to dent or scratch. I was thinking a crx or a older vw.

i fuckin hate working on VW's. They use weird sizes us nissan guys only have nightmares about. I purchased a decent allen set a while back and I found out while doing a brake job on a mk1 GTI that I am in need of a 7mm if I ever want to do that again. FUCK VW's, IMO, but to each there own.

I loved my old 280ZX, but they are old and a 2 seater, witch i would never own a 2 seater again. i just end up needing to haul too many people.
