I'm gonna link, cause there's 70 something of them. There's some good shots in there, and yes, I look like a douche in most of them. In 4 days I managed to hit Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Santa Monica Beach, Zuma, Malibu, Hollywood, downtown and Pasadena. And come April I'll be moving...as soon as I get the 240 working. There's also some pics of the car in the parent album.

Downtown was dirty, I've never been the only white guy amongst that many people. It was an experience, though.

Santa Monica was cool, that's where I got the drunkest, and the beach there was better than Venice, but the beach at Zuma was amazing. The PCH rocked too.

That's actually a very long room. And just wide enough for a queensize bed. So, the other end of that room is 2 beds shoved together. Very interesting, but very cool.

our downtown sucks. it's not a tourist attraction; it's strictly business, bums, and the fashion district alleys. other cities have attractions in their downtowns, i wish we had that.

oh well, LA has other places to do shit. downtown has little hole-in-the-wall joints that are great, but it's just not enough. you get tired of this city until you turn 21

... Downtown is undergoing an amazing revival, with all the lofts being built in those old buildings, and the bars/clubs popping up to service the yuppies that are buying the lofts up like hotcakes. Also, if you're an architecture freak, you can spend DAYS walking every street of downtown, it it still wouldn't be enough time to see everything... You just need to know what you're looking for.

... Downtown is undergoing an amazing revival, with all the lofts being built in those old buildings, and the bars/clubs popping up to service the yuppies that are buying the lofts up like hotcakes. Also, if you're an architecture freak, you can spend DAYS walking every street of downtown, it it still wouldn't be enough time to see everything... You just need to know what you're looking for.

Downtown did have a lot of nice architecture and I saw some places that I'm sure were really nice inside, but ground level wasn't very pleasing.

downtown suffers from incurable blight. sure the financial district is alright, but i dare the average tourist to venture down to 6th and broadway...even though i've seen tours of the historic theaters down there, everybody looked like they were clutching their purses, and constantly patting their pockets to make sure their wallets were where they left them.

I moved my wallet to my front pocket, but I do that in any majorly crowded area. The financial district I didn't get to see, but the fashion district was...interesting. There's a lot of potential there.

chokudoriboy is right, there's so much money being pumped into revitalizing downtown LA, and big boy Trump's in the picture as well, so don't be surprised if the dirty streets and semi weaksauce nightlife is completely 180'ed in the next couple years.

i used to work in downtown LA as well, i enjoyed it, its no worse than any other urban U.S city. skid row does suck at night though, but a city this huge is gonna be like that.

as for the pics, some cool shots in there, but what, no IN and OUT BURGER pics??? cmon dude, you needed to rock a 4x4 animal style or something!

Huh? what are you talking about? In SoCal you drive everywhere. It seems like to get anywhere you need to jump in the car and get on a highway. In San Francisco, I take the subway and bus everywhere and I don't even need to touch my car for a week sometimes.

the only reason i like in n out is cuz they are open till like 1am and the only other place is del taco so i alternate between the 2, and cuz i know some people who work at different in n outs. 4x4 is sweeeeeeeeet
