Fixing Broken Positive Lead on Alternator
The positive wire is half broken/frayed. I searched around and saw that the OEM wire is a 4 gauge wire battery wire. Is this true?
Also, does this wire go straight from the alternator to the battery? I'm thinking of replacing the whole wire instead of just repairing whats on there but don't wanna open up another can of worms (to many open). Looking at the wiring digram it looks like 'Charging system' goes to a fusible link in the fuse box under the hood then to the battery. Is this right? So all I need to do is remove the wire from the alternator and pop it off the fusible link to replace it. Any help is appreciated for this electronics noob. |
