Suspension Problem. Help?

Monday, I bought four used tires from a local tire place. I don't have power steering, but when i left, i was able to turn the wheel a hell of a lot easier. I didn't think new tires would help with that, but that's not the problem.

When i get above say 40 mph, i get nasty feedback through my steering wheel, and it gets worse up at around 50 and then smooths out at around 60...

Basically, I'm wondering what could be wrong?

I was thinking either a bent rim, or damaged tie-end rods, or i need an alignment from god.

I'm running kyb agx's and eibachs and hope my shocks aren't blown already. Is it possible that my subframe got bent?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you didnt have the prob when you went in there, Id say rebalance the tires.

Yeah, my tires did that too. It started of at 50 mph, then as I went faster, is started to smooth out. Just go get the tires rebalanced. If that doesn't help, then it could be your alignment.

I got the tires rebalanced, and the vibrations aren't as bad as they were, but there is still some feedback through the wheel. Don't have the money for an alignment at the moment...(it's no fun being a broke ass college student) but if that doesn't take care of it, are there any other suggestions?

If the car that those tires came off of originally had bad shocks, it could have caused the tires to develop bumps in the tread which may or may not be visually noticeable, but would be enough to cause the vibration. I've seen this happen at least a couple of times.

yeah if the car had bad shocks the tires treads would kind of have bumps in the tread facing the opposite rotation of the tire. it can be easily seen in SUV or truck tires but not dat easily for tires of our cars.

You didnt happen to take whatever rims you have on there off a honda did you? Friend did this one once, the different lug pattern 4/5x100 will fit on 114 but wont seat perfect, and when he got new tires it felt like what your describing. Just a thought.

I'm 98% sure it's not your alignment. If it was bad enough to cause vibration your tires would probably also be screeching and howling as you drove and you would be able to SEE that your alignment was off.

the tires could also be cupped, check both edges of the tire for even wear. if it start once you got new tires, check both tires and the balancing before an alignment, just simply do to price. make sure you have even tread across the tire and make sure one shoulder isnt worn more than another. Cupping is usually do to people that dont rotate their tires and the tire gets partial to one side and wears the other (i also buy used tires cuz i love to burn them out and they are cheap). then you could align it, especially if you havent aligned it after you did your suspension, as im sure you know lowering your car changes the alignment characteristics.
