Starting problems!

First of all, I did search, and I was too pissed off to go even further since I am under a lot of stress thanks to these problems.

I was driving my car on the road yesterday to school and as I was pulling in to my school parking lot, the idle goes up as if the A/C was on(even though it wasn't), and the needle goes up, but luckily I parked it since I needed to be in class anyways.

So after my last class was over, I go to my car, and the car won't start now. Usually before it would start once in a while by one key turn, but other times it would take multiple times to do so, but in this case, I tried turning the key so many times and it still won't start. I checked the battery connections, it's secured. Got my friend to come over and try jump-starting my car, no dice, won't crank. It clicks once, but doesn't spark. Haven't tried to push start it due to limited time and space at the time, so that was ruled out.

I'm confused and pissed off on what the problem could be. The starter was replaced with a brand-new one back in June of last year so it cannot be the problem. Battery, alternator, and the starter were tested and running at it's optimum capacity. The only things I can think of that are giving me the problems are the ignition switch or the clutch interlock switch.

As of now, it's still stuck at the parking lot until I figure out wtf to do with rectify this problem at hand.

Got any advice on what to do? I'm running out of ideas.

when you tested the batt did you what to see what the voltage did under load? a lot of times batts will read fine until you crank the car and put a load on them , then they drop. honestly i know you said you checked it but thats what it sounds like to me if it only clicks once and doesnt crank. i dont think it would even get that far is one of those two switches were bad.

As far as the voltage is concerned, I don't remember, to tell you the truth. I'm going to take the battery and the starter out when I have time to have it tested again and record the findings.

For the overheating issue, I found the culprit. It's coming from the intake manifold, so it has to be coolant hoses from there that is causing it to surge and then go back to normal.

So, what does your car do when you try to start it? It is hard to diagnose it from your description. Does it crank, but never catch? Does it just click? Does it make no noise at all? Can't help without more info.
