For everyone who has standalone fuel management, which ones are you using and how do you like it?

well, one of my friends built a volvo up. here's his specs

(His Words, Not Mine)
Standard B23 (2,3 liter) engine bottom from 1984 modified with oil-jets for piston cooling from Mazda.

Modified standard pistons from B23ET (760 turbo - 1984) for 7,5:1 i compression.

Modified cylinder-head with standard valves. Double valve-springs. More or less standard camshaft from carburated B21.

Big Intercooler

Gt2540 BB turbo

Ported exhaust-manifold and modified to fit the turbo.

Homebuilt intake-manifold

Getrag M50 gearbox

Double sinter-clutch from AP-Racing

Wheight balanced conrods from standard B23

8 injectors at 375ml/min each

Haltech F9A for fuel and Electromotive HPV3B for ignition. Fully tuned of owner himself without dyno (just highway, lambda-meter, exhaustgas-temp meter, my ears for knock-detection and so on.....)

he's pretty happy with the Haltech FMS, its got a lot more powerful features than the Simple Digital Systems setup, cause the SDS is handheld, where as the Haltech uses RS232 comm protocol managed from a laptop.

here's some videos of him laying the smack down on a E-code E36 M3 Evo, 321 hp.

I'm using a Haltech E6K for my DET. I choose it because of price, and the fact that it could directly drive the coils (only on S15 motors, S13-14 will still need the ignitor chip). I'm satisified with it, but not thrilled. The customer service has been bad, and the DOS-based software is cumbersome. A month after I got mine installed, the communications went out and I can no longer get on-line with it to make changes. Looks like I'm going to have to let them charge my credit card for a new one that they'll let me borrow while they fix mine. All that aside, the performance seems fine, and the engine wiring harness was nice too.

Wanted to bring this back up.

Is there anyone else using Standalone systems? Power FC.
If so what do you think of it. How hard is it to tune?

Thanks
Jed

The power FC is very user friendly. Once you install the saofware onto your PC or laptop then all the parameters are there for the engine you bought it for. In most cases 13B, SR20, RB20 all of the basic maps are there for the car. Once you install it. There is a requirement to let the car run so it can learn your idle and timing. The software has help sections so you can trouble shoot. You have to pay attention to this help section it will teach you everything you need to know.
