Yea I agree...why would you have to worry about your radiator conducting electricity. Nothing with high voltage gets close to there. The only reason I would use rubber bushing is to dampen the vibrations. But even if you use metal bushing, I doubt there is enough vibrations to do any damage to the radiator as long as its secure.

has to do with electrolysis.
just google that. basically it has to do with bad ground, or if it gets loose or disconnects etc.

There are no grounds or power wires running into the radiator. The Fans will be grounded to the Chasis, the temp sensors will be run into the intake manifold, so all in all, I am pretty sure I am safe.

The trunk is a pain in the ass. I have decided to use Aerocatch Lockable hoodpins in the rear so I have been working on shaving the lock hole and builfing the the top surface of the trunk by 3mm in order to blend flush withthe body kit.
This included taking the trunk completely down to metal. Welding some material into the lock hole and then building the top of it up with 2 layers of fiber mat and then a final layer of fiber weave. The final stage will involve using fiber putty (Resin, Powder and hardener) to form a sandable surface and then I will sand it smooth and prime it for paint. Smoothing out the trunk lock is proving to be a pain int he ass, but it should be done soon. Before people get shitty about the wrinkle in the fiber weave on the backside, it is going to be removed once it is all dry, I just needed some overlap to work with. Im not sure how the trunk on an s15 is, in fact i forget how it goes on an s13 since i havent opened the trunk now in half a year... but on most cars when there is a fitment issue you can either adjust it or put some spacers where its mounted or touching (like the rubber things etc...) So uhm lol @ all the work to just make it flush

WellI was just saying most trunks/parts of cars are adjustable... I used to work at a ford factory on the body work and had to make sure clearances/fitment was alright..its just easier and usually how its done by many shops lol.. and the spacers is a quick fix... instead of adding weight with so much fiberglass/bondo/whatever... it was just a few thoughts I had though
![]() Ah well lol ![]() ![]() |

Weight is no concern to me, I am actually looking at custom fabbing up a weight bar that will allow for me to put more weight on and take weight off when needed, however a stripped down S Chasis with a 900+ HP RB26 can use all the weight it can get. |

Yes, the trunks are adjustable in that you can move them side to side so you can get them to close properly. In CursedGTRs case, I believe he wants the body panels and the trunk to line up flush, height wise. (that's why he's building up the trunk) If you put in a spacer, you can probably get the trunk to sit flush, but the space between the weatherstrip and trunk will be bigger now, so you might leak water into the car in the future. Awesome attention to detail!

Thanks all for the compliments, comments and suggestions. The trunk build up was a total abortion due to the low points caused by the Type R wing and the GT wing that were previously mount on the trunk. I have decided to do away with the stock trunk and an FRP trunk from MeisterR is enroute. Once it gets here I will sand it, cut the holes for the aerocatch pins and the car will go into paint. I wanted to make sure all was flush, but it just didn't work out well, I will most likely make minor adjustment and close the difference in height to about 1mm which is barely noticeable.
Once the car is out of Paint, it will sit a while and harden while I work on things like the dash board, knuckles, bearing replacements and things like that. I will update pics tonight as I start on my dash project. Once the paint is ready, I will wet sand and then start to assemble this pig. Brian |
