Although the IDx is okay, I'm still let down by the fact that Nissan didn't revive the S-chassis.

Sure, the S-chassis has been dead since 2002, but it seems that Nissan is going to let it stay dead for good.....

They were never going to revive the s chassis. Technology has moved well beyond it and it isn't going back.

If Nissan didn't revive the S chassis because it's old tech, then why are they reviving the 510, which is even older? That's a rhetorical question, I'm just pointing out how asinine your comment is. Nissan has their reasons for not reviving the s chassis, and that's not one.

OMG. You guys are killing me with these photochops! The white one with the SSR's is exactly what I would do. Very nice. Someone get to posting these chops at the 510 sites bashing the IDx... lol

Lol... I'm no fan of LSx swaps... But c'mon. you KNOW thats whats gonna happen. There's gonna be a plethora of LSx, RocketBunny, Formula D inspired IDX running around all over Sema and shit when the car drops.

FT86 board seems to like the IDX
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51755

510 board has mixed opinions, but seem to be following the lead of one guy.
http://community.ratsun.net/topic/58...n-idx-new-510/
Look at what they were hoping for from a new 510... lolwtf... shit looks as old as an S13 coupe or E36 Beemer already...

Edit: Just signed up over on the Ratsun board to share you guys' photochops. Hope you don't mind. I just wanna help build support of this car. Because if it gets made, I will likely be buying one, provided the engine and transmission options aren't completely terrible.

One of the Ratsun guys did put this together though... Dorisha? lol

Lets get this shit straight. All these ignorant fanboys are in here bitching and moaning about how Nissan isn't making a literal S chassis revival with an S16. They don't want to see a new small rwd coupe, they want their s chassis the beat off to.

This new car vaguely resembling half a dozen older cars' styling is a far fucking cry from that and don't get it twisted.

Seriously, I do not give a single fuck if another S-Chassis ever comes out. As long as we have a car that possesses the qualities that made the Silvia great: RWD, lightweight, coupe, I4 turbo, class leading handling and style at an entry level price.

The name or brand means nothing to me.

This if the BRZ/FRS came factory turbo with room to improve I'd buy a BRZ no prob. I love that car. I care less if it was boxer or not. Problem is I am not going to shell out that kind of money for a 200hp car. I can turbo my stock KA with left over sr parts and make that kind of power.

If the production car looks good, is RWD and comes with a turbo 4 then sign me up.

Yeah, the lack of a mod friendly factory turbo setup is a big problem for me. Its a make or break kinda thing. Getting to a target like 300hp+ in a car like an FRS, S2000 or RX8 is alot more expensive than it is in a car like Solstice/Sky turbo or Genesis coupe 2.0T, etc...

I don't know why some ppl feel like you must choose between either power or handling. I want both. In an inexpensive 2+2.

EXACTLY. I don't need a center of gravity lower than a porsche but HP lower than an accord. I just want a decent handling 2+2 couple that has a turbo 4 that won't cost tons of money that responds well to mods.

I think the reason every is up in arms about the 510 remake vs the S-chassis is that the S-chassis represented exactly what we all want now.

Light weight, RWD a potent engine that cna be upgrade well over stock before you need to mod the block. A chassis that doesn't handle razor sharp like an FD but can be modded to handle pretty well. All in all a fun car that you can make unique and your own. If this new 510 can do that, then I am down.

We be fucked then, NICO tried to talk to them, tried to show the interest in a cheap RWD chassis, and Nissan just laughed and told them to go play with the Juke.

^That maybe true but Andy Palmer took them serious enough to post there. And zerodameon is right. Andy defended nissan's current position saying all how great the juke is and about that VR powered Nismo juke.

I think for Nissan it's like

Fans: Hey remember that car you used to make that didnt sell well in its later years? And did so poorly only Japan got the last model?
Nissan: Yea.....?
Fans: We want you to make a new one and like we'll totally buy it this time foreals!
Nissan: ..........

If you guys are serious about Nissan making a new car based on the IDX, you shoulddpost on their Facebook page. They do respond. Though im not sure where it will go from there...
