^ I've tried but they are too shallow and won't cover up enough of the projector and how it's mounted.

are you talking about the space left/right of the projector with in the low-beam housing? or just the depth of the projector not being covered? I was thinking about E55-R shroud with chrome acrylic sheet behind the shroud to fill in the void...

but if I am understanding your comment correctly, it would look funny IMO with big false wall up so close to the headlight lens.

with that plan scrapped, going back to the drawing board! LOL

I ran out and snapped a couple, wasn't sure what you wanted to see. If you need a specific angle let me know! Don't have a great camera at the moment, using my Iphone (3G) so quality is awful!

Turned on.

Dude those are sick. They remind me of the Zoom Up cars.

Does anyone know what kind of projectors/shrouds these are?

There's really no way to tell from those pics. Most of the Japanese zenki retrofits I've seen use cheap Chinese projectors that basically screw in to the headlights unfortunately. The stuff you see on ebay for $70 for a full kit... so I think it's done more for the look than the performance.

The "iris" shrouds are similar to those though, just smooth with no faceting.

Woah, I was unaware that the CS lenses were so under sized compared to OEM.
That's a lot of gap. Almost looks like the molded the clears inside of a OEM lense and called it good.

Thread revival as I will be doing my retro soon.

Car: 95 S14
Already have PnP "Bi-Xenon" kit with the little halogen bulb to act as the highbeam in the low-beam portion, so I ordered the TRS Morimoto Mini H1 6.0 with 4300k Bulbs.

silviaks2nr and Andres_G...if you guys ever check this thread again...I've got some burning questions for you guys on wiring.

I know Andres_G did the thread on the HIDPlanet on this topic already, but I need some dumbed down version of it.

How do I flash my bi-xenons in H4 housings (during daytime)?

Exactly what I'm looking to do..just need part numbers of the diodes and what needs to be where and connected to what. LOL

Thank you thank you

Here is something a little bit different I decided to go with.

I went ahead and mounted some LED bars (I fabbed up some aluminum brackets)
And I mounted the headlight covers with some aluminum brackets as well.
I removed all of the OEM headlight hardware under as it is very heavy and I shed some weight this way as well.

The lights look pretty good at night while driving.

Just get the h4/9003 harness TRS sells and it will do exactly that, and completely plug and play. Even has 9006 inputs for the mini bixenon solenoids.

Well, I seem to do this all the time, post up a question with 1/3 of it answered on my own, read and research again and kind of find my own answers...So from what I've been reading so far I've gotten these two items just now.

Capacitor for the [Low to High] or [High to Low] transitions so the HID doesn't loose power, and Diode to keep the HID on.

now I just gotta figure out where exactly they would need to get soldered onto.

oh, and I am broke ATM and I always enjoy figuring stuff out and doing it on my own(If I can do it, I might as well do it kind of thing, the nerdy stuff), so I didn't want to buy the TRS harness. I've called them twice just today asking the same questions to them and I didn't get a clear answer on what exactly I needed to order from them, and twice in same day is enough for me.

edit: after some thinking and what not...i think this will work.

My HID system already has relays in it, so I'll leave that alone.(1 relay powering both ballasts. don't want to change it because it's been working perfectly fine for last 5 years)

So instead, I'll change things around the stock low-beam harness.

I'll tap into the high-beam wire and solder in the bi-xenon solenoid wire than the diode to the low-beam wire. On the low-beam wire after the diode, i'll solder in the capacitor than finally into the H4 socket.

I'll try to draw this out, but hopefully that makes sense and will work with what I'm trying to do here.

edit #2: Here's my super fine Power Point drawing! lol

This is all before it gets hook up to the bulb or the ballast.

Are you just doing Halogen bulbs or are you just going to toss H4 HIDs in there without doing the proper retrofit of the housings?

you shouldn't need the capacitor actually then. But what you have there will work. Put a 15a fuse inline in the power wire to each ballast
