Hi guys, I just want to bring up an old post because I didn't want to create a new thread.

I have a specific problem regarding my Z32 ebrake swap on my S14. Simply put: My eBrake is looser, unresponsive, and weak. I really have to tug on the eBrake just so I can stop it from moving on a hill.

This is what my guy said to me after I got my car back from the shop:

Quote:
We did notice the ebrake wasn't as responsive as before. We tried tinkering with the adjustment but we couldn't get it much better. Could be an issue with the handbrake mechanics itself. We didn't want to adjust too much because the ebrake could become engaged after the rotors heat up.

If you want we can see if we can adjust it a bit tighter.
What do you guys suggest I should do?

adjust the engagement point at the drum assembly itself, or possibly replace the drum pads if needed.

Are you referring to the rear caliper brake pads? I just replaced these pads with BRAND new Hawk HPS pads.

Engagement point? Not sure what you're getting here.

Any more info would be awesome! thanks for the help!

there's an adjustment screw on the ebrake assembly that turns to loosen/tighten the ebrake shoes. you can use a screwdriver or get a tool for it at harbor freight. and the the pads he was referring to are called brake shoes they may be worn out
