You make a good point sir, Haha. Hmm, maybe I should rethink this. Yes, the S14 is in GREAT shape, only has 70k on the stock motor. But, this is really the first S14 I've seen for sale in or around NH, that hasn't been like fully modded. I think I might just be sick of working on the S13 and it's just that I want to get rid of it and the fact that my parents are up my ass about the S13..

id reconsider....you'll regret it probably...just paint it and be proud of YOUR work...i dont care how exspensive of a paint job it is....but you'll love it if you painted it...trust me...ive been through 23 cars and im almost 19...And i've realized....dont give up so easily...just give it time...I've owned my datsun like 7 months now and i love it....yea it needs paint also, but eh?...so i think i decided to keep it...(unless someone walked up with cash)

I mean the past month or so of me trying to sell it, I have been so anxious to just get it off my hands. I can't really daily drive the car, especially not on these NH roads. I can't drive to some friends houses and am constantly looking for rides and/or taking my moms car places. It sucks. I just want something I can drive around but I still want a 240. I mean I've done my work, and I've learned a ton about swaps and everything. And if I traded I could try a different setup, something that will work with where I live. Yeah, I could just sell my JIC's and get springs, but the S13.. I don't know, I just think it is time for some change. I'm 17 and I've already gone through 5 cars, I know its not 23, but I just like new things and I really like how the S14 looks..

Or he can paint his S13 (up to a 100$) Raise it up since its on coilovers...(enough to get around, just dont make it look lifted) then save up for a daily...

Finish what you started, or repair what you damaged. Seriously man, if you render your s13 close to a normal functioning car you'll soon find out that they aren't that bad when it comes to fuel consumption or looks. With that given, you can have your daily driver, and also save for another potential project. I have no Idea why getting another car would help your situation whatsoever, especially since you claim to have done multiple swaps and other work on the s13 chassis. From personal experience I have found that such tasks that seem so hard to complete (i.e. getting paint) can almost stop you dead on, but if you just stick it out and get it done the reward is that much greater on a personal level.
If you hate the car, by all means sell it, but I doubt the car will attract a lot of attention in the state it is in unless you turn it around for cheap, and doing so would only hurt what a paint job and a few tweaks could have repaired. Overall I'm seeing a lack of TLC for your car just by the picture in your signature. I can totally relate with currently buying a hatch for $750, and seeing all the rice work done to my car; the stripped bolts, the A/C that smells like cat piss, the badly wired stereo. It's things like this that you look back on in a montage like fashion and say "This USED to be such a pile of shit". Just this once, I beg of you to keep it, fix it, and not to dispose of it cause you are having love issues with it.

The car's only weak point is paint which has been established all through this thread. With that given do you think that it'd sell for under $5k? He's a paint job short of a car he can turn around for some serious cash and get what he truly desires. I was regarding "TLC" and the "Love hate relationship" in a sense where he was upset with the car. It's all about profit this day in age...So thats why I would paint it...then easily sell it for about 6.5k....maybe 7k...who knows? But I just think if he painted the car then he'd appriacate it more...as far as the S14 route...he can do that...I dont care what he does....but he's asking for opinions and we're giving them....and there's my opinion

Actually the subject he brought up was whether or not to trade his car for another one.

If he was worrying about money, i'd tell him to never spend a penny on a bullshit part again unless he's able to sell it for a substancial profit worth risking the loss of his invest money.

I think he should take the risk of paint and turn a profit, I see it as a more promising investment, not only for a customer, but for himself. He clearly wants an s14, and I think with how much he could sell/trade the car for with paint would be to his advantage.

I would try to trade with cash as mentioned or sell your S13 and buy the S14. That S14 is already 5-lug, and the KA is really cool when boosted. And I think you could be happy with getting just some springs or something instead of coilovers. I have just Eibachs and I am satisfied for now. Well... until I move in a couple weeks, the roads there are flat and smooth and then coilovers are gonna look more enticing... I think the only downfall will be the performance. Going from modified SR to stock KA.

My S13 is the only 240 swap I've done, and it wasn't very hard at all. I haven't had one problem with the car since I've done the swap. I'll agree the car does mean a lot to me, seeing as how I put so much time and effort and money into it. The thing is..around here, these cars don't sell fast. Even with paint I don't think I could get 6-7k like you are saying. I have people coming to look at the car saying that they can paint it and that they are happy I have sanded it, so that they have the choice. And then they turn around and offer me 3k for it.

I'm done trying to sell the car now. I've been trying for 2 months and not one serious offer. Just a bunch of trades for lame riced out civics or random jeeps, etc. This S14 was the only thing that appealed to me; and so what if I'm at loss a little bit. Can't make a profit on everything you do. If I trade though, I think I will be happier in the end. A car that I can daily drive, will be very good on gas, won't have to worry about driving it places and bottoming out, and once again I will have all my options open to do whatever I want to the car and have fun again with another project!

i still only see you complaining about 3 things

1 gas mileage
2 paint
3 suspension

1 from what i've seen a stock sr should get about the same mileage as a ka as long as you don't get on it

2 personally i hate that color s14. i own one. shit is like 12 years old and needs a paint job anyway. a cheap single stage spray looks fine and it'll last for a few years.

3. you can sell your coilovers and use the money to buy shocks and springs. or hell, you can pick up stock suspension for like 20 bucks (or free) on the forums. voila you can drive it around again.

if you're just worried about bottoming out, you could just raise the car. just because you have coilovers doesn't mean you have to be zilvia low.

Plain and simple, do what you can afford. Do it right. If you cant have the luxury of changing cars without minimal sacrafice then just wait it out. Prioritize your things and just wait until your positive the time is right for change. Dont always think that thats the best deal out there and you NEED to jump on it right away.
