so other then the fact that yes its cheaper stuff in it, you can't prove that it filters soooo badly that it would cause harm to your car, or are you just going to keep saying this stuff costs more and has better materials so the other stuff is instantly labeled garbage? I'm not trying to say that there is no difference between the filters, just that oem and fram filters will work fine regardless of the materials being not as good as more expensive ones.

They are made with inferior components, and many many people have reported more valve train noise on start up with these filters. They use cardboard end caps which can easily leak and cheap bypass valves which are known to stick open. You could get lucky and run them without a problem, but knowing that there are better choices for the same money, why take a chance?

I'm sorry if you don't understand the importance on how the filtration works in an oil filter.

There is a defense in defending ebay exhausts, but IMO not for a fram filter, it only takes about 6 feet of movement to get out of the fram section. Why play "bang the hooker raw" when you can play it safe with a 12yr old by using a mobil1 or maybe a wix that wont leak.

Didnt they have a picture of a fram grenaded?

I've never had a problem with OEM Nissan filters. I've never see one tear up with track usage, and their drainback valves work.

I think it's just like oil, you can nitpick to the Nth degree, but as long as the oil you are using has a relatively good additive package you're just splitting hairs. I say this as someone who has at least some background in tribology.

Okay the thing with OEM filter that the newer ones are made in China switch are using paper filters. If your going to go with OEM filter make sure it's a blue filter and made in Japan. If not it's our true OEM filter.

wurd on the wix. That's interesting to hear. I haven't used wix filter yet. I've been on moble1 and k&n mostly. I don't see the different really between the two. I've used boschs filter a few times when they didn't have anything else. There not bad for a cheaper fitler. Like I said for the OEM filter has long has there blue and made in Japan there good.

protection wise.... just change your filter everytime you do a oil change.

i say. get the cheapest you can get. cause your just going to change your oil every 3000 miles. some ppl like us do even sooner.

as long as your changing oil its good enuff.

and most of you s13 guys your prolly leaking half a qrt a week. in one month you pour in 4 qrts maybe.

you guys prolly dont even need a oil change haha just keep pouring oil and changing your filter.

If I'm not mistaken, the KA has a built in valve.

most all filter manufacturers design their filters with valves when they are called for in the filter. otherwise they are probably built into the block or filter adapter.

I was told that wix had the same oil press bypass as oem, so that would imply that wix Nd oem do? I don't know, haven't verified.

actually read the thread. This was about the ADBV of the Wix vs PureOnes, which Wix filters were extremely hit or miss, but the Pureones were/still are spot on.

They Pure Ones cost the same as the wix, but out perform them.

I was online earlier looking at the Delvac oils and saw that Mobil offers 10w-30. Seems like its alot easier to find the 15w-40 variety than any of them. As far as filters I just use whatever I can find with an anti drain back valve and buy in bulk. It doesn't seem like there are really any that truly hold pressure available for our motors.
