if u want to join, go for it! The Airforce has the highest requirments of all the military branches! You have a better chance of gaining a degree or some type of licence. I'm in the Navy and my job doesnt get shit!

Whatever you do, get certified along the way if you can. My father worked in the RCAF back in the 50's and 60's and never realized the opportunities that were available. If you are working with electronics, at least get a paper that says you are an electrician.

Also, when you do get out, be prepared to move anywhere to get a job. A lot of people expect to stay where the family and friends are and make good money. You need to go to where the jobs are. Sometimes, if you go to some small hick town, with your certification, you can be 'the dude to see' for everything. If you know what I'm saying.

I've often thought of getting certified and open up my own automotive shop outside of the city.

Why would you put MP/SF in the list? Thats the most shit job you can possibly get in the AF. PJs training is grueling...basically they are the jocks of the AF. You name it, they basically train for it. Tactical Controllers (TacP) are the guys who are imbedded with the Army and calls in air support. That means you live with the Army in Army conditions with Army deployments. You might as well have joined the Army and get more money.

The hell do you even mean by requirements? You mean fucking ASVAB score? If you cant score a 40 in your ASVAB, you're a fucking waste of oxygen. Besides, its the same minimum requirement to get into the fucking Marine Corps. As far as degrees, you make it sound like its given to us. Its the same shit for all branches, you get your job training and you get college credits for it. Its still not enough to get you shit, you still have to go to school and get more prerequisite to get a lousy Associates Degree.

Youre in the navy and you say that you're job doesnt get shit...you should have gotten some college credit unless you work in the fucking Galley as a cook. You might get some college credit for Culinary Arts.

Why oh why did you come in open anything. Thats how you get fucked. Always always ALWAYS come in guranteed a job that you want. If you get one of those 4 jobs, kiss your lucky stars cuz you fucking lucked out. You better hold your breath that those AFSC got openings for a 1 level when you get done with basic. If not, your shits out of luck...and welcome to being SF.

You want a good job in the AF...Air Traffic Controllers. 4 yrs in, get the fuck out and work FAA making $75k starting salary with a $15k raise at every position you get qualified in. Another job is Biomedical, maintaining hospital equipment. You get certified, you can work outside and make decent money as a side job while youre in the AF. X-Ray tech is good too but I think its overmanned in the AF right now since a buttload of folks crosstrained into it 4 yrs ago. Same thing with 3C0s (computer/networking AFSC).

Then again, any job that you can do where you can get a Top Secret Clearance will gurantee you a job outside.

hey guys i need some advice also...ok im getting my bachelors in aerospace engineering in about 2 more years..now after i wanted to join the airforce to get a start in some sort of career and hopefully get some funding for a masters..this would also be a good opportunity to do something new with my life..

now what kind of insight can you guys give me?

Get your ass into the ROTC program if you're thinking of going AF at all.

PM me if you want to talk to somebody and I can try to get you with my Lt who wont thru the program. He didnt come out as an asshat like most cadets who goes thru the AF academy.

Secondly have your first base over seas!! Japan, germany etc! You'll fucken love it! Good luck, and my basic wasn't easy I got super sick couldn't talk for 3 weeks! My flight leader was a piece of shit!

USAA FTMFW!!! You can fucking do anything and everything thru them...banking, loans, investments, car insurance, rental cars...fuck I've bought plane tickets and flowers for my GF thru them before (atleast thru their affiliates in the sites that gives you a discount for being a USAA member).
