No no no! It's your duty to frickin' stuff every one of the stupid weedwacker exhaust civics whenever they want to race! ESPECIALLY if it has a huge aluminum wing! Did he have a resonator tip?

Hmmm if I change the Do-Luck wing on my car I'd go with a wing from Hiro...it's hard to find a pic of it since the speedlab.com site went down...but yeah its kinda like that boomex one but better and a little less pronounced.

OK OK OK ... aight ya've had ur fun. 1st thing i really like the look of these wings i think it completes the GT style im goin for plus this is the only "ricey" thing im really goin to put on my car so im allowed one thing :-P. And #### no of course i don't drive around at 150 mph everyday im just doing it for the look isn't that what everyspoiler or ne kind of wing on a car is for, it's just for looks. Plus, That IS A SUBLTE WING, lmao it's only supposed to be like 8 inches tall i think and #### at least it don't hang up there even with the roof line and have 3 wings on it protrudin out everywhere. And when i say subtle, i mean subtle for a wing all u guys have put up there r spoilers i don't want a spoiler. Finally, i guess it's 2 different worlds from where i live and ya'll do. Because down here in alabama people don't even know what "ricey" means cause imports r a smaaallllll minority down here. Neway thanxs for the criticism though LMAO :-P

DSC: Thats the kind of wing I like, I just cant find one I like. The bomex one in the picture hangs off the tail to much. Now I am looking for a wing like that for a s13 coupe.

i agree, that's the only thing i don't like about them, that they hang off the tail 2 much, other than that i think they're pretty cool.

Dayum - my color car does look good with powder coated wheels

As for the spoiler... Height - actually to have a spoiler function on an s14, it needs to be that high to get into clean air. HOWEVER, unless you do some windtunnel testing, all that clean air is more likely to put a dent in your trunk lid than help your high speed stability. BRW: the best thing about multi-wing spoilers is that you can use them to store books. I saw a photo from a rice-arrest type page where they found this car with a GTR wing, stocked it with paperbacks and knick knacks and took a photo (I really wish I would have saved it!).

you guys kill me sometimes some of you dont know you ####### from your face
this is a good looking wing do you reay thing that a 2 pound wing is going to slow you down??
sorry to tell you that it has no efect on the car execpt around 80mph then the wing has a use there is not enouf drag on these wings enought to efect your car in the 1/4 mile the most any of these wings on this topic will slow you down is about 0.004 sec
well i think i can risk that 0.004 slower to have some style to the car

and thats my 4 cents

Gotta love that 180SX Type X wing that zephyr posted.

Easy killer;). First off, I think that the Type X wing and the others were added as examples of nice looking wings that give your car style without looking stupid (The wing at issue is that 8-12 inch high touring car looking thing). I think other fine examples would be the Nismo, small Bomex, or Do-Luck wings (since it IS an s14 we are talking about). The one for the Silvia Aero would be a good choice if you want a functional wing, as it works in clean air - but is too large for some of us.

As for the drag coef., most wings, incl. the factory spoiler and the Nismo version, don't do a #### thing on an s14. Not even 0.0004! That one, however would due to its height. Also, since functional ground effects generally begin to work at speeds of about 50 mph, the driver *may* feel some slight effects. I say this b/c I know people who have built splitters, undertrays, and lips that have made noticeable differences in the feel of the car at highway speeds. And yes, I've actually seen dents in the trunks of Civics from running a wing very similar to this one.

I don't think anyone here is against style and we know that it won't slow us down, but I think we all like to see some level of taste. I think what you said is absolutely accurate, but it seems like you didn't quite get the tone. Just trying to interpret...

Honestly I woould worry a littel about the downforce that thing creates in offramps... pushing around those at 80 with an downforce would make the front of the car light and squirmy... I kinda like the wing.. very fast and furious, but dunno if I would put one on my car.

i was just tryig to get the point that the wings that was posted on this topic r not at all rice as some people said
and i say yes that the wings that stick off the trunk more than 18" are redicklus and i have seen twisted trunks from it also

wow... that wuz pretty heated.
guess you guys are pretty hard on anything that's remotely 'ricey'

I personally find GT wings to be nice on the silvia/240 and the GTR, those are the only 2 cars (families) which look sweet in the wing.

plus the dude chose the wing obviously to go for a GT look... not to be any crazy rice ornament.
my friend who used to be on this board has a crazy S14 and has a GT wing on it now too... i think it looks even more aggressive than before... it depends on ur taste.
altho 'subtle' isn't the word i'd use to describe the wing tho.

Well, to be honest, GT style wings usually look fine on larger sports cars with a large amount of rear trunk space. If it's on a CRX, Integra hatchback, or anything with little to no rear trunk space for a wing of that size, then it's frickin' ridiculous.
