I was told elbows should be relaxed and settle at about a 90* angle. I prefer to have the wheel closer than that. I'm using a works bell short hub, nrg slim qr, and nardi deep. It sits closer than stock just by a bit.

I'm 5'9" and typically sit quite far from the pedals (I like a straight leg and the ability to stretch). As such, having a slightly deeper wheel is convenient so my arms aren't fully extended.

I use a Personal Neo Grinta 330mm (which has a bit of dish, but not nearly as much as a deep corn/cone). It's mated up to an NRG Slim hub and 2.0 QR, and feels great.

To those debating Grip Royal vs Personal/Nardi, the leather on my Personal feels just as nice as my F30 BMW's steering wheel. The quality is astounding for the price. I had a suede OMP before, which was nice, but nothing compared to the Personal.

I just ordered the same wheel Quail, yours looks great. I debated for hours between leather and suede. Figured the suede wouldn't hold up like the leather. But in any case, how much further does the wheel stick out vs stock? I'm going to use a works bell QR and a short hub

You'll be very happy with it. Suede wheels do go bad after a while if you don't wear gloves; leather is the right choice for a street car.

I haven't ran the stock wheel in so long that I can't give you an accurate answer on the distance difference, but WB QR and Short Hub will be similar to my setup, which feels very natural. Not too far from stock either way IIRC.

I dont mind the griproyal type wheels at all. In fact am basically using one, the difference is I paid $45 shipped from china on Alibaba. Dont know why people are buying the same wheels for $200 + (I guess for the paint job?)

But I would be lying if I said I did not bring my stock steering wheel as a back up to my first drift event in case I snapped it in half

I'm fat and 6'1"... so I like flat wheels. I like my stock s14 wheel more than both aftermarket wheels that came with my former s13. one was super small, so I swapped it for the wheel that was slightly smaller than my stock s14 wheel.... Still would have rather had the stock wheel.

You guys saying you like deep dish wheels because you want it closer, and then go on to say you have a slim hub need to get your shit together. You're doing it wrong.

Quick release and short hub. A quick release with a full-sized hub and a concave wheel is basically driving with your tits.

Any 3 inch Boss Hub & QR combo with a Nardi classic 340mm. Six inches away from turn signals is fine for me.

Hahah! Forgot all about this! Definitely takes some getting used to. You basically only have your thumb on the wheel as you reach for the signal with your pinky. My car's been track only these last few years so it hasn't been such a big deal.

Not really. I run a full sized hub and quick release and used to run a concave wheel and it wasn't an issue. I could have put a small spacer on and still would have been fine.

Wait wait wait wait.

People purchase aftermarket steering wheels for reasons other than looks?

Obviously you do not understand wheel fitment.
You can buy a cool-looking deep dish wheel with low offset that only requires a small spacer, or you can buy a JNC wheel and take pictures with it in the bathtub.

Same thing.

Buying a steering wheel for ergonomics is like buying a Bride seat for safety.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was fully aware that its a wheel and not a rim as im that guy to point it out every time. Couldn't describe a wheel other then the name rim without him still getting mixed up. w.e.

My deep corn 330 is half the depth of the deep corn 350. It mixed with the nrg slim hub and qr 2.5 make it an almost near perfect elbow out window/hand on wheel ratio for me.uploadfromtaptalk1461365735515.jpg

I got my Royal for $60 barely used. For the price to quality. I think I won. $180 for th wheel I got new is far stretched. Anyways. Tall? Deep dish. Short. No dish. If you rich just buy both for $30 each on the eBay and get a feel for them, then donate them.
