Make sure you put a block of wood under the pan so you don't dent it.

It's better to jack on the bellhousing not the oil pan.

Stay away from the oil pan altogether, you'll have plenty of room using the bellhousing.
Very easy job as long as the old nuts aren't seized/stripped.
If someone said they don't work on a ka they are completely wrong, my car is sitting right outside with these badass mounts. No problems.

what mounts are you talking about?? Ahh duely noted about the wood and using the bellhousing instead. The bellhousing sounds more safer.

How long do you guys think this install should take or how long did it take you guys?

it took me like 3 weeks because i couldn't break off the stupid bolts on the underside of the motor mounts and i got pissed and lazy.

but if you have proper tools and a really big breaker bar, i would say it should take like an hour tops, and that's if you're taking your time.

In my write-up, I used blocks of wood to "turn" the engine in the engine bay by pushing up on the alternator bracket on one side, and the air conditioner on the other side. As everyone else is saying, don't push on the oil pan. You're begging for a leak.

The other "big" reason for not pushing on the oil pan, is that you can't get the engine high enough to clear the mounts. I suppose you could get it high enough if you unbolt the tranny cross member along with the mounts, but you'd need something to support that while you do the engine mounts.

The ultimate would be to use an engine hoist, but I wanted to find a way to do it that would be easy enough for anyone with a floor jack to do the project.

With taking pictures, I think it took me less than an hour to do all three mounts. If you are just doing motor mounts, there are only about 6 nuts that you have to remove. The trick is getting the engine up high enough to get the mounts out. I've already pointed out the trick in another post.

lilredstiffy, Thanks for the info on the SR/KA mount issue. It's good to know, and now I'm lusting after those monster mounts

First things first though, I need to replace my 210k original exhaust...then the mounts!

i did both bout half hour each on lift at work. I also had a transmission jack stand that was hella tall that lifted the motor on the bell housing and used my impact gun for the bottom bolts on the motor mounts and my air ratchet for the rest with some extensions and impact swivels. pretty easy. Dirty but easy.

Ah crap mine does that now, and I was thinking of getting nismo mounts. With those the wheel probably will fall off lol. Does yours make a sound?
