Plenty of people use factory main bolts. That Ashton guy makes over 730fwhp with GTiR main bolts. I really don't know what all the fuss is about sleeves either. I mean, you are around the limit I'm sure Santos. But e85's cooling effects take care of the heat issues and I just don't see the problem with <600hp. You shouldn't have problems distorting your block or lifting the head. Santos, I think your car just popped a gasket from seeing 35+psi with zero load.
Like I said earlier, people get to caught up in what they read from these "big shots" on the forums. Just because the general consensus is "well you need this for xx horsepower" doesn't mean it's true. People say things without testing their own theory first hand. I've seen these cars lay down huge power without having ten grand in the short block. I'm ready to join the big boy crew with you Santos. May we have many low 6 second time slips ahead of us!! |

Ya the zero load/ 2step I'm sure was the cause.
I do not think I am at the limit for the sleeves but we will find out. I will push her till she cracks and eve then I might not sleeve it lol

Santos what did you do for a downpipe? I ordered my turbo and I'm reading that it has a 2.5" t31 turbine housing.. I thought a turbo this size would definitely have a 3" exit.

Just reread your post that says t3. Man something is up here.. I've spoken with the people that build them and the dealers now and they do not make a 3" exit for t3.... wait, do you have a v band inlet as well?? They said v band inlet and outlet was the only way..

By the way Santos, don't hate me, but I ordered the 5858. It still supports 600+hp and it comes on to boost a lot sooner than the 62. I drive my car a lot so I wanted it to be more streetable and overall just have a fatter powerband.

That's what I'm thinking about doing.. Did the 3" v band fit over the original flange?
Also, how did you weld it? Did you heat the housing up to 600*F before hand and use a Nickel filler? Thanks for the help btw.. |

What's transmission do you guys use?. My transmission output shaft just snap during launch. The cost of installing z32 or z33 transmission is almost the cost of 1jz swap.

So for you S14 chassis guys, 15x9 with 6.5 bs or 15x10 with 6.5 bs? I am currently selling my RX7 Setup to fund my 15" setup since I will need as much traction as possible. I am thinking the 9's will do but I have seen many S14 guys fit the 10s but it is a very tight fit in there with them. Looking at RaceStar Wheels due to the design of the wheel. Typically they allow z32 rear calipers to fit better then Welds from what I have been told....again not first hand knowledge.
http://zilvia.net/f/wheels-tires/487...26x11-5-a.html Prob looking to stick 27x11.5x15 Tires under the rear fenders. Hopefully I will just need a roll and a slight pull with the 15s. Need to stuff as much tire as possible under there for this setup. Last edited by 2muchboost; 11-12-2012 at 12:14 PM.. |

jr ss, Your probably right about the transmission grinds. I couldn't have that either.
Santos, what are some ideas on going automatic. It may be in my near future. I've seen a number of adapter plates in Australia but not much state side. Is z32 auto an option? |

Looks like LeverTen is the place for factory built autos. I was hoping for something from maybe the z32 TT that would hold around 500hp factory but I may be dreaming.
Might be shelling out $4k for a LevelTen eventually.. |

Power glide will be the cheapest but we used a c4 in my dads old set up. Worked great but can't go wrong with a glide,c4,th350/400

Yes, level ten is quite pricey, but I haven't seen or heard of anyone else that does factory built auto trannies for Nissan's... The stock auto shits the bed and starts to slip clutches around the 400-500wtq mark on the VGs if I'm not mistaken.

You dog!! I love 'em! Best looking wheel you can get for a drag setup. I'm thinking about going with these in a 17x9 all around and have two 15's for the track.
