^^ Agreed. Rented a Focus wagon recently and while I did like the overall driving experience, I didn't like the clutter and small ass gas tank (it's like 12 gallons or something?). Hopefully the tank is addressed because i can imagine 300+hp drinking up 12 gallons like nothing. At least the interior looks a BIT better than the non-performance Focus haha.

I think I'm going to say fuck it and get a HR Z33. That RS is going to be in the high 30s if not low 40s

I really kinda want that RS... It needs a straight pipe with a 2-step just so I can feel like I'm in a rally car whenever I get on the freeway. Other than that who cares.

Fixed the link for you, and that's not a bad price for the Nismo. Good thing that the slave and master have been replaced. It turned into a nightmare dealing with it for me. I ended up going through the lemon law process on mine. Is it weird that I think the 350z Nismo looks a million times better than the 370z Nismo??

Forgive me for not researching, but does the HR Z address the oil consumption issue from the earlier years?

That's a good question! But I'd rather add a little oil then have a trans that grinds from 1-2 and 3-4 plus adding oil

I dunno, Future, HR 350Z is ok and all, but I think Raz0rblade has the right idea. Forthe price of an early Z33, you can buy a base C5 Vette. Lighter than the Z, more power & chock full of targa top awesomeness. Certainly gave me something to think about. Why lust for an LS1 swap when you can just get the car the LS1 comes out of & bolt-on enough N/A parts to make it outperform an LS6? Plus there are pop-up head light deletes...

Only way I'd do that is a C6. If I did that it needs to be a Z06. Definitely can't afford that!

I've always wanted a Z, and a Nismo. To me it's like our (Nissan people vs Honda guys) Type-R kind of thing. It's like a collectable item to me. Of course I'd drive it, but I'd leave it to bolt on parts. Compared to if I got a normal HR I wouldn't be scared of blowing it up and keeping it original. And it comes in red, I love red cars

if I can secure the funds for that Nismo I'll end up with one of the purple Z33 HR, I'm in no hurry to get it as my daily does the job perfectly fine. But he has that Nismo up since October and it's still around. Maybe it's a sign haha

That's how I used to feel as well. Until I found out how the C5 & C6 are virtually the same car underneath all that fiberglass. Get rid of the C5's pop-ups & fugly nose and you got a poor man's C6 for as low as $6k from what I'm seeing locally. I'd spend less buying one of these than SR swapping my S14 & throwing coils/wheels on...</p>

That's a good point! My whole thing with buying a new (new to me) car is minimal mods for fun. I plan the same things you plan on a Vett. Bolt ons, i don't need a insanely fast car to have fun. I plan on my next car seeing plenty of track time, you don't need a ton of power to have fun there.

Have you ever worked on anything with a V8? The VQ is already a bitch. I've done headers on a 2000 Mustang and never again. I can't imagine on a Vett

I don't want to be swapping front ends, and this and that. I don't want another project car in that sense

No, I've never worked on a V8 yet. I figure if guys are willing to work on an LSx in a S-Chassis, how much worse could it be in it's native car? But hey, you don't HAVE to do headers if you don't want to. I'm sure it'll still be a fun car. It's still got a 1:10 power to weight ratio in stock form, or pretty damn close to it. But there are plenty of examples of mild N/A bolt-ons bringing the LS1's performance roughly equal to the 2008 base Vette with it's updated 430hp. Way more than enough power for me.

Wasn't talking about front end swapping C5 to the C6... Fuq dat shit. There are C5 specific bumpers that simply resemble the C6's design style & aftermarket flush projector headlights to replace the pop-ups, reminiscent of FD3S RE Amemiya headlights. Sure beats going Sileighty...

Most mods are done with the eninge out before the swap it in the 240s, kinda different

It's Raz0rblade's fault! I like C6's but I never really thought twice about the C5. Now, it looks like a no brainer to me because they're so damn cheap & relatively rock solid. I can't believe I was dreaming of turbo s2000's & turbo E36's when this was a sub $10k option.

*searching Craigslist right now. ......will have links by your next response

EDIT: Z06 is still costly in a C5, a C6 is obviously way more

lol true, but it is a RWD coupe!

Here are some cars we might be able to afford in a few years after depreciation kicks in....

I'm not interested in either, but I love the exhaust note from both of them.

My bro recently bought a c5 zo6 for slightly less than 20k. It had about 56,000 miles on it.

I've been looking at 2007-08 335i's lately and they are getting pretty affordable. Twin turbo 3.0L and only a chip and bolt ons away from 400hp. They did have recalls/issues with the fuel pumps and turbo wastegates though so i don't know if I'll be pulling the trigger on those anytime soon.

I know you all want turbo cars

but as a toy I personally just want a engine. When it blows, put another. Less hassle, more fun!
