Question...

How did Australia get so cool over the years?

I remember back in in the mid 2000's they were basically the laughing stock of the drift community. I recall the term "Ausfailia" at the time. Their road regulations were so strict it made it basically impossible to have a cool looking car. Lowered? Camber? Tire Stretch? Exhaust? nopenopenopenopenope fines everywhere for Australians. Most cars looked horrible.

Have the regulations loosened up? Or is everyone just saying fuck it?

Example, the entire NICE VIBE blog:

the laws here are prob worse than ever regarding impound/seizure and loss of license but more people have access to trailers these days to get to the track and just more careful about when and where we take our cars out.

mine is prob one of the lamest on there but that still got me in a lot of trouble with police so had to sell up and now just have a stockish r34 sedan for street and a corolla for track work

...well according to the "You're Doing It Wrong" thread it would appear that the anuses are still around. Maybe the other end of the spectrum is just catching up.

My tires should be here today. I have to do my fender work on Wednesday, mount the tires, and install my coilovers/arms. I'm looking for a paint shop in San Diego so I can get my car redone in that OEM pearl-white color. No, I don't know the code (haven't looked) and I refuse to use the dealership name if it sounds something like 'Winter-White-Starlight-Beam'. I'll try to have pictures in here by the weekend.

I'm also trying to score that OEM black-electric-tape striping. So shitty that it's now awesome.

...anyone want to buy my Watanabes? They don't clear my S14 brakes :/

I've got R-Types in 16x8.5-6 all around. I'm mounting tires on my Volks this week and if I can sneak some money from my tax returns I want to throw a pair of tires on the Wats and use them out back. Seems like a waste to just keep them in the boxes if no one wants to buy them.

jay70 I've always loved your car. Never knew you were on here. It's one of the main reasons I was interested in Wats on the S13 in the first place.

thanks man yeah i had a set of 8.5s too but had the same issue of needing a spacer to clear front brakes that made them sit too far out for my liking, so just ran them on the back. still have them for another car, watanabes are my fave. yours should look sweet on those volks tho

also had these dori mesh for it but the car sold before they arrived

Nothing about your car is dorisha.

√ Spray painted hood
√ Illest stickers
√ Spray painted poor fitting wheels

Yup "dorisha".

Just because your wheels are smaller then 17's doesn't mean your car fit's this profile. Your car sits more in the "I'm from (-redacted-) and shop exclusively at Zumiez for all my clothes" bucket.
